If you could create your own world — what would it look like?

That’s what I get to do when I draw.

I create places, stories and little traces of life — one line at a time.

This is Part IV of Traces of Life, and the world is slowly beginning to take shape.

There’s still a lot left to draw… and I don’t know exactly what will appear yet. ✍🏻

A lovely opening at Farum Kulturhus today. 🤍

I’m very happy to be part of the current group exhibition with Azurmalerne at Fløjgalleriet in Farum Kulturhus.

There was a wonderful atmosphere at the opening, with many visitors, conversations, music and lots of beautiful art to explore.

I’m especially happy to see my works so beautifully placed among so many other wonderful artworks. There is so much beautiful art to see, and being part of the exhibition at Fløjgalleriet is a truly lovely experience.

THE WAITING ROOM

What if waiting isn’t simply time passing?

Sometimes nature waits too.

Seeds wait beneath the soil.
Winter waits for spring.
We wait for things to change, for answers, for new beginnings.

And sometimes, waiting is the beginning of something.

A waiting room can be a place of uncertainty.
But it can also be a place where we pause, observe and learn to accept that not everything can happen right now.

Sometimes we simply have to sit with the waiting.

And sometimes, while we wait,
something inside us is already changing.

UNITY — an original acrylic painting from my Season series.

At first glance, Unity is a painting of birch trees.

But look closer.

The surface is built from layers of paint, texture, cracks and colour. Blues meet turquoise, silver, green and yellow — changing subtly depending on the light and where you stand.

That is part of what I wanted to explore in this piece.

Nature is never static. Light changes colour. Surfaces hold traces of time. Different elements exist alongside each other and become something more together.

Unity.

Not because everything is the same.

But because everything belongs to something larger.

This is an original, one-of-a-kind acrylic painting on canvas, created as part of my Season series.

Two very different ways of creating.

I love moving between painting and fineliner because the processes are almost complete opposites.

With painting, I work from the inside out. Layer by layer, I build the image — always able to paint over, change, cover and add. Until, eventually, I find myself almost standing outside the painting, looking in.

With fineliner, I work from the outside in. I begin with the foreground and slowly move deeper into the drawing, layer by layer, until I find myself completely inside it, looking out.

And then there is one very important difference:

Once that little black ink line is there… it is there.

No eraser.
No painting over it.
No going back. 😂

Perhaps that is exactly why fineliner becomes so meditative.

Two mediums.
Two completely different processes.
Two completely different ways of thinking.

And I love both.

For me, creating art is also about exploring how differently an image can come to life — through colour, layers, texture and light, or through a single, permanent line.

PART III — TRACES OF LIFE

This drawing started with nothing more than a blank 50 × 70 cm sheet of art board, a thought, and an idea.

No finished image.
No complete plan.
Just the beginning of a journey.

This is the first original work in a new series called Traces of Life.

There will be no people in these drawings.
No animals either.

Instead, I want to tell a story through the things they leave behind.

A bicycle.
A street.
A café.
A train station.
A landscape.
A home.

Little traces that make you wonder who was here — and where they went next.

And the funny thing is… I don’t actually know the whole story yet.

I know where it begins.
I know where it eventually ends.

Everything in between will reveal itself as I draw.

One line at a time.
One place at a time.
One trace of life at a time.

At first glance, The Queen’s Peace is a quiet landscape. 🌿

A single tree. Still water. Soft light.
A moment that feels almost completely still.

But look a little closer…

Layers of colour begin to appear — greens, golds, turquoise, deep shadows and tiny marks hidden within the surface.

Some are subtle.
Some only reveal themselves when you stop and really look.

I love creating paintings that invite you to slow down and explore rather than simply look.
