How I Feel About West Indies Cricket 🏏🇯🇲🇧🇧🇹🇹🇬🇾🇱🇨🇩🇲
At this point, West Indies cricket feels like it’s caught in a constant battle with not being good enough. Let me explain — it’s as if every year, we create a new lowest point for ourselves.
From Nepal’s historic series win over a two-time T20 World Champion team… to Bangladesh’s recent 2–1 victory… and our continuous struggles to last even 50 overs in the Test format — it’s becoming painfully clear that something fundamental is missing in our preparation for the international stage.
Financial challenges? Yes, that’s a factor — and we can acknowledge that. But money alone doesn’t define creativity, passion, or purpose. At the very least, we should be striving to recreate the brand of cricket that once made the West Indies a global powerhouse.
When application, adaptation, endurance, and resilience become questionable traits in our cricket culture, we are in deep trouble.
We’ve tried almost everything when it comes to players — talent has never truly been our issue. Maybe… just maybe, it’s time to look higher up the chain. Perhaps the real problem lies in the management, vision, and direction of West Indies Cricket itself.
Because the truth is — the spirit of Caribbean cricket deserves better. And so do we. 🌴🔥
