The Malaysian Intercultural dinner was great fun! Thank you to our wonderful attendees who were just as colourful as the artwork and food, which were collectively made during this event!

My heartfelt thanks to for facilitating this cook and paint event. What we created reflects the same distinctiveness and beauty embodied by each of our participants and organisers.

Grateful for the community spirit and the experience ♥️

When spring whispers, it can only mean that pop-up season is upon us.

What language speaks louder than food and art?

A language that defies grammatical rules and nuances; just pure flavors to remember and colors that could move us to feel deeper.

Pop-ups are so fun because it's a casual way of doing business minus the ego and a place where organic cultural exchange happenstances takes place when strangers become a community.
P.s. These photos were from last year's pop-up events.

Honoured to be featured and interviewed by Kofi + as part of a joint community engagement celebrating 500 years of Estonian books.

The conversation begins where the reporter curiously asks why I, as a foreigner, would be interested in contributing to the 'fabric of Estonian society', to which my answer was simple and heartfelt.

''I am registered as an author in Estonia and actively contribute to the country’s creative arts scene, so it feels meaningful to play even a minute role in a large historic project such as this one that will become part of the nation’s modern history''. As a cross-cultural contemporary cultural mediator, these moments of participation carry deep personal significance.

I was also asked which Estonian literary works resonate with me the most. Without hesitation, I shared that the folklore epic 'Kalevipoeg' stands out profoundly. Its themes of journey, struggle, identity, and belonging mirror many parallels in my own life as an international multidisciplinary artist navigating cultures, histories, and home.

Grateful to contribute, to listen and to be listened to; thread by thread into the evolving cultural tapestry of this evolving society.

Grateful to be creating, writing, and actively contributing to the cultural fabric of this society that I now call home.

May art continue to connect languages, histories, and people across borders.

As always, Batiksuutra is open to collaborations and cultural projects that celebrate heritage, identity, and contemporary visual arts through the grassroots of people's history.

Grateful for all the amazing opportunities and collabs in 2025. Clapping for myself even if no one else does. My projects are my 'rice bowls', just as we don't question a 9-to-5 corporate job. This is how artists and creative entrepreneurs make our bucks.|Ancient Art Ritual

Wishing your creative side a Happy 2026, and see you on the flip side of another calendar year🎉

Commemorating yesterday's grand finale in my motherland with a throw back to the PSE Batik Design Competition which I curated, led and won in 2006 with 2 awards. Oh, how batik has evolved over the years. It's good to see what was once considered passè, to be more acceptable into mainstream livelihood. What a great time to be alive as a batik artisan. Congratulations to the winners! It's super hard work but you made it. Trust me, I know, I've been there. ✨🎉
