During June, we had the chance to talk about Seto traditions in Mexico. The public was very interested on knowing about Peko- the god of crops and fertility in the Seto folk.
The tradition says that Peko, the god-king of Setos has left Setomaa and is sleeping in a cave of Petseri Monastery (Russia). In his absence, there is a seto king. Setos vote each year for their king or queen in summer. Ülemsootska will reign the Seto land until the return of Peko. But when will he return?
