The Napoleon fish is one of the large, perennial fish found in the waters of the Red Sea in Egypt. The average lifespan of the fish is estimated according to its type. Females live about 50 years and males live about 45 years, and their numbers are scarce due to the slow rate of reproduction of the fish. 8. It is distinguished by dense lips, and it has a high hump above its head, which increases in size with the age of the fish.

9. Males are distinguished by their green and blue colours, while females are distinguished by their orange colour.

10. This fish can change its gender from a female to a male, and scientists have not yet known the reason for this change.

11. Females live about 50 years, while males live a little shorter around 45 years.

12. It has a very slow reproduction rate due to destructive fishing techniques, and cases of illegal, unregulated or unreported fishing.
