**“‘It’s not much of a day,’ said Eeyore, staring at the ground. ‘Then again, most days aren’t.’
Tigger leaned forward with a grin that could have lit the woods all on its own. ‘That’s the wonderful thing about days, Eeyore! You only need one good bounce in them to make them better.’
Eeyore sighed, the kind of sigh that ruffled the butterflies nearby. ‘I don’t suppose I’m much of a bouncer,’ he said.
‘That’s okay,’ Tigger replied, softer now. ‘You don’t have to bounce. You just have to be here. I can do the bouncing for both of us.’
And so they sat, side by side, one bright and one a little blue, watching the sunlight filter through the trees. The Forest seemed to pause, as if it understood the importance of two very different friends choosing to share the same log.
Eeyore, though he didn’t smile, felt something settle in his heart—a small reminder that gloom feels less heavy when someone is willing to sit with you in it. And Tigger, still smiling, thought to himself, ‘Sometimes the best kind of bouncing is simply not leaving a friend behind.’**
