Mona Alaa is a palestinian dental student at ain shams university, content creator
who looks for latest trends and updates about influencers on social media and the
owner of “Heimat” brand for clothing .
Sent by Mona Alaa. Q Do you think beauty standards exist in society today?
A. As long as trends exist, yes. Q How do you think this happens?
A. When we consume a lot of media daily, we imprint the images we see online, which include glass mirror skin, BBLA bodies, skinny bodies, and many unrealistic
images that don’t actually exist. Q What sort of pressure does social media have on young women?
A. I believe it is the constant pressure to look a certain way, dress a certain way, and
even weigh a certain amount. When a young woman, for example, watches tiktoks all
day or stays up on Instagram all day, it gets stuck in her head that this is the way to go. She doesn’t find a lot of people to tell her that the pimple on her face is normal or that
she doesn’t need a million products for her little pimple. Instead, they will try to sell
her an overpriced product because that’s their job. Q Have influencers ever caused you to think about your own image in a negative
or positive way?
A. Yes, for sure. A certain celebrity started the trend of BBL bodies, and everyone
was happy that curvy bodies are in style and trending, but recently, she removed her
implants, and now everyone thinks skinny is better, when in reality, we are just being
played.
Q Do you think social media influencers create a standard for women’s bodies or
beauty that is almost unattainable?
A. Definitely, because simply it’s not even real. Their make-up isn’t flawless, and
their angles are well studied with the help of FaceTune and Photoshop. Q Do you think influencers have been trying to break beauty standards recently?
A. Recently, a lot of influencers have been trying to be more transparent and real with
their audience. Q Who are the beauty influencers you believe are breaking the beauty standards?
A. Emma Chamberlain is one of the few YouTubers who is always showing her
vulnerable side and her bad days, which is amazing because it shows everyone that it's
okay to have bad days and it’s okay to not be okay sometimes. Another influencer I
adore is Hadeer Hameed, who is an Egyptian influencer who is smashing the beauty
standards and always making reels about self-love and embracing yourself, so yes, I
do think there are people who are trying to break the cycle. Q Concerning your brand, how do you manage to lower the pressure for the
audience waiting for your collections?
A. heimat's main goal is to always be affordable; I wanted fashion to be accessible to
everyone. I know you can find affordable clothes, but can you find your style
affordable? A lot of people dress according to how they are pressured or how much
money they have. I tried to make it affordable for people who wanted this style. I tried
to lower the prices and include a lot of sizes because I know how hard it can be to find
bigger sizes or xx small sizes, so I tried to make it inclusive.  Mona Alaa’s social media accounts:

Regarding the significant impact of influencers and bloggers on the audience and how they affect their buying behavior, we talked to one of the audience members and asked them about their opinion on this topic and how they think the influencers affect their attitude and convince them with a specific product.

Our guest is a 20-year-old woman who follows many bloggers and is affected by their opinions.

The interview:
Q: What is your name?
A: Rawan Soliman.

Q: How old are you?

A: 20

Q: Do you follow any bloggers or influencers on different social media platforms?

A: Yes, I follow many bloggers on Instagram and TikTok.

Q: Can you give me the name of your favorite blogger or influencer.

A: Samaras’s food on Instagram.

Q: Can you tell me what kind of content she is creating?

A: food recipes, mainly healthy food.

Q: Do you think that the blogger and the influencer may indirectly convince you to buy a specific product?

A: Yes, sometimes I buy a product I don’t need because I saw a review about it and it gives me a need to buy it.

Q: Did you remember a specific product you bought only because you saw a blogger use it or make an ad about it?

A: Yes, Amanda has a blushing stick.

Q: When you use it, is it good or just overrated?

A: No, it was overrated and overpriced too.

Q: When you see a blogger recommend a specific product and you see many reviews about the same product that isn’t good, do you think that the blogger here is losing his credibility?

A: Yes, of course, he is losing his credibility because he must try this product himself before recommending it to his audience.

Q: Did the influencers’ and bloggers’ ads affect you more than the traditional ads on TV and billboards, for example?

A: by the influencers, because the traditional ads didn’t say the pros and cons of the product; they only showed the good things in the product, But the bloggers say the pros and cons, and they try them out on camera so I can see them.

Q: Are influencers’ and bloggers’ roles in the marketing field increasing or decreasing?

A: Of course, it is increasing due to the many social media platforms, we use every day.

Thank you

thank you.

Asking Dr/Mohamed Elshbrawy about Idealizing the Image of influencers how it Impact the Mental health of the viewers

Introduction: Dr/ Mohamed Elshbrawy Head of the Department of psychiatry in Elmowazfen hospital, He graduated from Al-Azhar Medicine, Class of 2002 and He holds a Master’s Degree in psychology From Ain Shams University.

A: Can you introduce yourself to us?

B: Dr. Muhammad Al-Shabrawy, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology

A: You are welcome

B: Hello, Becky

A: We will talk about the ideal image that the content makers present, and how it negatively affects the viewers.

First question: What do you think of the phenomenon of influencers?

B: In fact, this is a new phenomenon in Egyptian society. We see that it has more negative aspects than positive ones. One of the negatives in it is that all people can see it and it enters the homes of all people, not like some TV programs or channels in which a person in this situation can change the channel or stay away. Regarding unwanted programs, the content of influencers has spread to a large extent in the recent period, and it has taken a lot of people’s time and reached the age of teenagers, and the content is not all purposeful.
This phenomenon must exist because the whole world depends on phenomena
No phenomenon will not happen whether (social, cosmic, or human). The whole world is now going through phenomena that may differ according to the people who present this phenomenon, but it is like a phenomenon that must happen. It lives and continues for long periods. As for the negative phenomenon, like the person who has no talent, it will appear for a while with show and fanfare and disappear at all times. I think that the phenomenon of influencers will not exist very soon because people will be more aware because the story is not just the content of the story further than that, I think that there are people who benefit from these things directly, financially, in return for this, there are people who lose a lot by wasting their time watching harmful and unnecessary things.
The issue is more related to the environment or the upbringing of the house from my point of view if you ask me how we can avoid these things.
I will tell you that it is difficult because we are now in a world of the open skies, the open Internet, and terrible technological progress.

A: Especially since they are not being supervised or cencorshiped

B: Of course, these are things that remain open to everyone, and enter every home and every room, with different and attractive contents, and they can attract young and old age as well, even intellectuals, athletes, and so on. Others have to accept it against their will, even with the bad social conditions that some people are going through, so they are forced to imitate or have the desire to acquire the same things to be like the majority.

A: There will be social pressure on them.

B: This causes a bad psychological effect on the person who is not conscious and does not realize that it is not his time to think about these things, especially if he is in the education stage, so it should be the most important thing he thinks about.
Unfortunately, anyone who sees these things wants to promote the same idea and the same content and have the same followers to brag about and keep an entrance to him through social media. He enters a more famous field such as the field of media, sports, etc. Other than that, this financial income is another side.
Unfortunately, this story affects people who are psychologically weak or who suffer from mental illnesses such as psychological disorders, so they believe anything they see. People who suffer from depression find an opportunity to leave the society they are in for another society because they do not like the reality they are living in. In it, he gets more depressed because he is not interested in anything from this society. People who suffer from insomnia or lack of sleep will sit and watch these things. He will not search for religious rituals or things that help him sleep. Obscene without fatigue or effort and follows these contents. It can also provide content outside of it and does not contain the values or principles of society to achieve more profit. This is present in some foreign channels and well-known programs in Egypt. Nowadays, people are starting to understand a little and take care of them from their children, especially at a young age in watching mobiles and the internet

Because this topic pulled people away from learning and innovation and TV and distracted them from sports and religious values. There are no good models that you can rely on. On the contrary, the bad ones are much more because there is always more shedding light on influencers. After all, they attract the eye and have attractiveness and exciting needs.
The truth is that once I hear that there will be censorship of these contents

A: Will there be censorship, for example?

B: Some websites say that there will be control, and the state’s hours also say that in the era we are in, this is difficult, very difficult unless there is internal control from the head of the family, from the school, and university, from the mosque, the church, and the club, and the principles of religion come back again, and this will not work at all with open programs.

My advice to people who present this content is to take into account our Lord a little bit in it, and not to think that it will only achieve material gains or that I will have many followers.
Because this story extends and spreads between different cultures and countries, the topic is not limited to a specific country or homeland, the issue reaches the whole world
Therefore, if you do not control your eyes, your heart, and your style of life, and if you succeed, you are the first in the place where you are. After that, the money will come, the fame will come, and the followers will come. Satisfaction with success is a very important thing that we must strive for.

A: Do you see that they are really useful tools in the field of persuading people or directing them to a specific need?

B: They are clever in the field of persuading people, with the evidence that people follow them for long periods, earn a lot, and take more than their right to followers, uh, of course.

A: So, what are the negative effects that we are affected by when we see the ideal life for them?

B: If we remain, especially young people and adolescents, they will always want to imitate and remain like them. Therefore, if they do not have the same capabilities and means, they will not be able to imitate and remain like him. Therefore, he will enter into depression and frustration. He will leave his studies and the sports in which he was successful. He will not see the future after a few years. He will always have a pot under his feet, and he will want whoever sees this to do it, and he will still want this life to be his own, and this is of course a very negative effect, and it is not true.

A: So, why am I convinced that I have a deficiency at a certain point because I influence the ideal life that he shows, even though I may be knowing inside of me that this is acting?

B: Exactly, it is a moment of weakness for a person, a very difficult moment that can make him change the course of his life and be convinced of incorrect ideas, believe wrong beliefs, and enter into bouts of depression and frustration without any reason at all, he may remain incomprehensible, unaware, or young in any age There was, however, a moment of weakness for any person who came out of a bad experience in his life, whether it was material, emotional, or otherwise, it remains exactly like b***y or a very easy opportunity. Or it is not his own, but he wants to live the same life with the same capabilities, and he is no less than others at this time, and this is wrong of course. These are talents, and may God give them to each one according to his capabilities. Everyone must be convinced that what is not in the hands of others is yours. You are your share, livelihood, or success, and so on

A: We are not all alike

B: All right

A: If I found someone close to me who had this and was negatively affected, how can I make him aware?

B: By God, the truth is that it is difficult to educate him because he still has a stronger belief and conviction than the role of educating. We are his brother-in-law who lives the experience and he is convinced that this is not true. From around him. He sees the people who are succeeding with their efforts. He sees the future from around him. He sees that these things are out of his age. For example, if you see a child smoking at the age of 10, you will be upset with him. Age makes a difference in this story. If they are in adolescence, they young age must experience and see all the experiences of life. The experiences are not bad, but it remains an experience that does not become a continuity. There is no objection to a person trying something once and judging it.

A: All right, thank you very much for your presence

B: At your command

(An influential person and content creator who talks about topics like prayer, hijab, and some mental diseases- founder of brand)

An interview with Rahma Maged talking about her journey on social media and her opinion on influencer’s effect.

Q: Hello Rahma how are you?
A: Alhamdulillah
Q: First, let me to express my pleasure that you are here with me today for this interview.
A: And I am happier.
Q: How long have you been on social media Rahma?
A: From 2019, however I wasn't publishing as much, I posted more in 2020.
Q: Yes, I started to see you recently, what is your content on social media?
A: It is so random. There is sometimes religious content about how to make people aware of certain topics as praying and the right way to wear hijab.
Q: When you first created an account on TikTok, did you want to upload quality content or was it just for fun?
A: Honesty for fun but I don’t sure it was that.
Q: I also know that you have your own brand or start up where you do journals, tell me more about it
A: I am going to tell you. You know when we sometimes lose the passion then we want something support us step by step. It is morning and night routine go along with you step by step. It is a paper doesn’t make you confused. It show what you would do when you walk up from skin care routine and workout until night routine.
Q: I always saw you on FYP on TIKTOK talking about prayer and hijab. Did someone ever tell you that she is influenced by you at this point?
A: Yes. And some people told me that they took the step of hijab because of me which made me so happy.
Q: You have shared before with your followers your panic attack issues, tell me more about it.
A: Yes. One girl who feared she was having a heart or lung problem and thanked me for my videos for letting her know that it was actually just a panic attack. That was me when I was young. I thought I was going to die. It was bad experience for me then I did some videos about it what makes people more aware and understandable about panic attacks.
Q: How do you feel about sharing something so personal with others? Do you feel more relieved now?
A: At first people couldn’t understand but when I tried harder, I found out that there are people like me and have the same conditions what makes me more comfortable to post more videos to help more people.
Q: We'll return to journals and discuss how being an influencer affected your journal's sales, as you know, influencers have an impact on marketing. And if you started selling journals before TikTok, the impact will be different.
A: Honestly, instead of my small content, I asked myself, "Why couldn't I start my own business on TikTok?" And college encourage me more. Then I would have more content and also have fun.
Q: I mean as you know most of influencers make audience to target before starting the business.
A: No, it wasn’t like that. I thought after that why I didn’t do a real thing after people knew me.
Q: Are there a lot of people asking for your collaboration and to support them on their start up or what?
A: Yes. There are sometimes people send me gifts from their business and ask me to do a video for my review. And I like to support them so people could do the same for me you know.
Q: What is your opinion about influencer’s phenomena and its spread nowadays?
A: It depends. There are two ways. The person could be famous and influencer in good way which is hard. Or he could stir controversy and do weird things away of the morals of society. And everyone has the choice to select the good or bad way.
Q: What are the qualifications that make the person influencer?
A: Oh, this is hard. The person who have good personality and content.
Q: So, it depends on content.
A: Yes, the content and his way in front of camera.
Q: There are many people now who just share their dairies. They are not consider as influencers. Influencers is a person who have a message.
A: Yes, I agree
Q: Are you have a specific way to influence people or to deliver a message?
A: Honestly, it depends on my experience as I am on TikTok since awhile. So I know how to speak and the duration of the video. Even the way I speak on videos becomes like my speaking with my friends. I also learnt how to speak more.
Q: Yes, in my opinion, speaking freely and in your own way is the best approach to connect with others. And that was the thing I admired you the most. I am very glad I spoke with you for this interview.
A: And I am very happy too.

From Cairo to Sri Lanka tour with Nour
Norhan Nabil a blogger and content creator in TikTok platform. She was a masscommunicatio student which make her vlogs more profissional then other bloggers. She started making tours around Cairo city then around Egypt taking vedios and making tour vlogs and publishing them on her TikTok account “tourwithnour” containing historical and cultural information about her destinations in an easy and catcy way lately she have started her abroad tours with a visit to Sri Lanka.
https://www.tiktok.com/?_t=8XuKQkSVJ0n&_r=1

Q: What is your major?
A: I graduated from the faculty of Mass communication, Cairo University 2021
Q: What made you think of content creation?
A: I wasn’t interested in social media I was a moderat user and I didn’t think of being a content creator.
Q: But you were interested in mass media?
A: yes, It was my major but the step of being a content creator is postponed as my favorite platform was TikTok, but since people think it isn’t the best platform I was hesitant but then I thought it is measured by the kind of the content you present.
Q: How did the idea of tours vlogs came to you at the first place?
A: I love travelling, I travelled some places before and take vedios but I didn’t publish it on any platform but I loved the idea of making the vlogs, but then I thought sharing it with people qould be a good idea especially when you share with them information and at the same time it’s a historical information in a catchy way in a short vedio that the teenagers qould like to see.
Q: Is it hard to gather the historical information for each vlog?
A: Yes, for sure because you don’t want to be source of a wrong information So the audience comments would say that you say wrong information, So I have to focus on the information as if there is no source confirms that this is a historical information I Have to make sure to say that “It have been said that”
Q: Which places you like to visit the most?
A: I love the old mosques , palaces like King farouk’s palace in helwan and Manasterly palace in el manial.
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFVsPTtT/
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFVsyRe8/

Q: How did you choose your tours and the places you visit?
A: By searching for the places at the historical groups, and google for more historical places and searching whether visitors are allowed in this place or not, whether it is opened or not also searching whether anyone have made a vlog about it before or I’ll be the first one.
Q: In the tours of different cities which you have to travel for wasn’t there any problems faced you in travelling alone?
A: Mostly I don’t travel alone, My mother supports me so she travel with me and sometimes my friends travel with me because the one would worry about what would happen in a different City alone. The first time I travelled alone was to Sri Lanka.
Q: Sri Lanka was the first abroad destination for you what did it feel like for you?
A: It was a very nice experience at first I was shocked from alot of things as most of the food is not halal so you can’t even when you are very hungry. Also the idea of different cultures as the east Asian countries have totally different religious beliefs and cultures so you have to respect this beliefs.
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFVsjNow/

Q: Was there any different things that you can’t understood or deal with?
A: yes the Buddhist temples don’t allow the hijab so if you wear hijab you are not allowed to enter the temple, I was shocked Like all my team, even some of them didn’t enter the temple for me to not be sad. Also the main spreaded religion there is the buddhism, seeing people worship a sculpture in the street is a strange thing for our own culture as Egyptians. And the food there is weird.
Q: How is the food weird?
A: I tried the traditional food I didn’t found it in alot of cities as most don’t have Halal food but I found one city where I tried it in. I ate the soured mango and spicy coconuts.

Q: Is there any intentions for other tours abroad?
A: Yes, of course, but I need a break as I have a job and there is no company that will accept all these days off since the last trip to Sri Lanka took around sixteen days. It’s difficult but I have a plan for a lot of destinations.
B: Thank you for your time we hope to see more vlogs and more ideas for more places to visit.
A: you are welcome.
