PRESIDENT KIIR URGES NEW NORTHERN BAHR EL GHAZAL STATE GOVERNOR TO SERVE WITH DIGNITY AND COMMITMENT

JUBA, DECEMBER 22, 2025 President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged Governor Charles Dut Akol to serve the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal with dignity and a strong sense of responsibility.

The President made these comments during a meeting with Governor Dut in Juba on Monday, prior to the governor's upcoming trip to Aweil to officially take up his role.

President Kiir emphasized the importance of people-centered leadership, instructing Governor Dut to work diligently towards achieving peace, unity, and development in Northern Bahr el Ghazal. He encouraged the governor to uphold integrity in his service to the nation and to prioritize the well-being of the citizens.

In response, Governor Charles Dut Akol expressed his gratitude to the President for the trust placed in him and for the opportunity to serve the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal. He committed to working closely with state and traditional leaders to ensure stability and effective service delivery.

We stand with them for peace, unity, and development. As citizens of South Sudan, we can find new ways to assist our leaders by providing them with better information to help them lead peacefully.

**PRESIDENT KIIR CALLS FOR TRACTOR SUPPLY TO BOOST LOCAL FOOD PRODUCTION FOR FARMERS**

**Juba, June 12, 2025** – In a bold move to bolster food security and stimulate extensive local food production, President Salva Kiir Mayardit has directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to provide tractors and farming tools to farmers nationwide.

This directive emerged during a meeting with Unity State Governor Riek Bim Top, where the President received updates on the region's agricultural progress and overall conditions.

President Kiir stressed the vital role of empowering farmers to cultivate food domestically, advocating for a shift away from dependence on imported goods. He pointed out that equipping farmers with essential machinery would not only enhance food availability but also foster national stability and economic development.

The Governor reported that Unity State remains largely peaceful, despite sporadic incidents of cattle raiding. **PRESIDENT KIIR INSTALLS BOL WEK AS NEW GOVERNOR OF WARRAP STATE IN A FRESH EFFORT FOR PEACE**

**Juba, June 5, 2025** – In a significant step towards fostering peace and stability in the troubled region, President Salva Kiir Mayardit has officially inaugurated Ambassador Bol Wek Agoth as the new Governor of Warrap State.

During the ceremony, President Kiir encouraged the residents of Tonj and the broader Warrap community to embrace their new leader with warmth and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of unity in the quest for peace.

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 — President Salva Kiir Mayardit has been briefed by Vice President for Infrastructure cluster,Taban Deng G*i following his recent peace tour to Unity State, where he also graced the Centenary celebration of the Catholic Church in the state.

During the meeting, Vice President Taban outlined his extensive tour of the region in which he made several stopovers to engage directly with local communities. He emphasised the spirit of peace and stability and relayed President Kiir's message that South Sudan would never return to war.

The Vice President reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to peace and development in the country. He commended growing children's enrollment in schools around the country and thanked parents for their role in propagating learning.

The VP said the peace message was received warmly by the citizens of Unity State, and that they fully support further efforts toward achieving stability. He reiterated the need to develop much improved roads infrastructure to enhance connectivity and spur economic growth.

In a major economic update, the Vice President announced the successful functioning of the Mini Oil Refinery in Unity State, saying the facility is expected to bring tangible benefits to the people of Unity, Warrap, Ruweng and other nearby areas.

As part of the Africa Day 2025 celebrations, the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan Egypt-Cairo proudly participated in the friendly football tournament organized under the theme:
“Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”

In a thrilling match, the Community Team led 1-0 until Mr. Raymon Marko Deng Thembeny from South Sudan rescued the diplomatic team by scoring the equalizing goal, bringing the game to 1-1. His crucial strike reignited team spirit and took the match to penalties—where the Diplomatic Team triumphed 4-2.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Raymon for his heroic performance, and our appreciation to the opposing team for their excellent sportsmanship and energy.

**PRESIDENT SALVA KIIR OFFICIATES THE OATH-TAKING CEREMONY FOR NEW SPLM DEPUTY CHAIRS**

**Juba, May 22, 2025** – Today, President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the esteemed Chairman of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), took center stage at the party’s national headquarters in Juba to oversee the swearing-in of the newly appointed Deputy Chairpersons of the SPLM.

The event celebrated the formal induction of Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel as the First Deputy Chairman, Mary Apai as the Second Deputy Chairperson, and Simon Kun as the Third Deputy Chairman.

In his address, President Kiir warmly welcomed this fresh wave of leadership within the SPLM. He reflected on the movement’s rich history and honored its founding figures.
