๐Ÿ“ข JOURNEY ANNOUNCEMENT ๐Ÿ“ข

For the past 3.5 years, Iโ€™ve been adventuring across our world - lived a winter in the Arctic, traveled around Latin America, backpacked from Egypt to Japan without flying, then did the same on the Indian subcontinent, to name a few. What's next is something even more extraordinary:

I'm aiming to make a full circle around the Earth without taking a single flight! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ”

This will be the most ambitious journey Iโ€™ve ever attempted. The route will keep evolving, but the plan is simple: start in Egypt and keep heading west until I return home where I started, completing a full circle around the planet. It might take years. It will test me in ways I canโ€™t yet imagine. But I'm super thrilled ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Iโ€™m also excited to be opening the door for other backpackers who want to join me on long sections along the way. If you're interested to go on an adventure of a lifetime, my inbox is open :)

This is it - the ultimate backpacking trip. A full circle, across land and sea, without flying. It begins October 1st. Let's go!!

P.S. The video documentation of this journey is planned to be exclusively on YouTube - link in bio to subscribe ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

Connecting with locals has always been a key part of how I travel. Even in Bhutan - where you're required to be on a tour to visit - I still found space for meaningful encounters with lovely Bhutanese people ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

Surfing into the new year ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

What a refreshing start to 2025! Being a slow traveler gives me the flexibility to sometimes stay longer & immerse deeper in places, or in this case pursue new hobbies & interests.

I had an amazing week at ! As a beginner, the video analysis with Sri Lankaโ€™s surf champ was a game-changer for my progress. Combined with daily yoga sessions, rooftop cafe and a prime location right in front of the waves, I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the island ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

Update on a side note: I'll be announcing the next BIG no-fly challenge this April ๐Ÿ˜‰

Exploring the island of Sri Lanka in style with our trusty tuktuk, Rouby! ๐Ÿ›บ๐Ÿ’ญ

From cruising through lush green landscapes and sandy beaches to encountering elephants, monkeys, reptiles and peacocks on countryside roads โ€“ the journey was full of surprises at every turn. The incredible warmth & kindness of locals made the experience even sweeter.

Huge thanks to for letting us ride in Rouby โ€“ she took us everywhere (and then some)! What makes it even more meaningful is that they don't own the tuktuks; instead, they partner with local tuktuk owners, offering a unique & authentic self-driving adventure while helping them earn an income to support their families and communities.

Out of this world! ๐Ÿ›ธ๐Ÿ‘ฝ

Those UFO-shaped structures were once envisioned as a futuristic resort. 45 years later, today the seaside village is abandoned and one of the most bizarre places I've seen.

The day has come - I just went on a flight! ๐Ÿ˜€ officially marking the end of the Egypt to Japan Without Flying chapter. Here are some crazy numbers:

On this journey of 286 days, I've covered 46,796 km (29,078 miles), crossed 18 borders, slept in 136 places, took 215 buses, 116 car rides, 112 metros, 98 taxis, 67 trains, 55 hitchhike rides, 46 vans/marshrutkas, 9 ferries, 3 bicycles, 2 motorbikes, a sea barge, a camel, and a horse. And $0 in bribes.

Now I'll be slowly heading back home with a few stops on the way, exploring Taiwan, Sri Lanka and India. Once I'm back and rested, the planning can begin for the next BIGGER challenge in mind to start in 2025. Can't wait to share that with you!

Once again and as always, thanks a million for all your support ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I went to the announced Tokyo meetup with the expectation to meet maybe around 5-10 people. Arriving 5 minutes late, I was STUNNED to be welcomed by 65-70 smiling friendly faces ๐Ÿ˜

After shaking the hand of everyone, we chatted about the journey recalling fun & interesting stories from it, then shared time together at the park and some even stayed all day until we went for dinner.

Thank you all so very much for coming yesterday! It really gives me great pleasure to connect & unite people, especially from different parts of the world โ˜ฎ๏ธ let's keep spreading kindness and peace โœŒ๐Ÿฝ

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! ๐Ÿฅณ

Just backpacked from Egypt to Japan without flying in 250 days, covering around 42,400 km (26,350 miles), which exceeds the circumference of our planet.

I feel incredibly blessed for all the experiences I've had, the places I've seen, and the hospitable, friendly people who helped me along the way, showcasing the best of humanity. I believe the videos capture this better than I could express in words.

What started as a fun personal challenge quickly evolved into something much deeper. I've heard from moms who watch the videos with their kids to teach them about the world, people who say the videos helped them cheer up through tough times, and restoring the faith of many in humanity, etc. Iโ€™m extremely grateful for the impact this journey has had, far beyond what I ever imagined.

A huge thank you to YOU for your unwavering support, encouragement, and generous donations. Your messages and enthusiasm have been a constant source of motivation and I appreciate each & every one of you. It kinda felt like a community here :)

Now I have 5 weeks to explore Japan before my ultimate finish line in Tokyo, from where I fly out and slowly start heading back home with a few stops on the way (Taiwan & Sri Lanka). Btw if you're in Tokyo, I'll be organizing a meetup on weekend of November 16-17, so stay tuned for details.

I know many of you have been dreading the end of this vlog series. The good news is that I'm aiming for a MUCH bigger project to start sometime next year. I'll be looking for sponsorship, adventurous travel mates to join me, and hopefully can make it happen. More on that later :)

Love & peace,
Omar
