Mawai Aguek was a talented Twic Mayardit artist and hitmaker of the song “Mayarwa,”

He was among the SSPDF personnel who lost their lives on April 13, 2026, during clashes between SSPDF forces and SPLA-IO fighters in Akobo.

One Killed as Cattle Raid in Twic County Ends with Recovery of Stolen Herd

A cattle raid carried out by armed assailants from Mayom County in Unity State targeted herders in Toch Abiel, Turalei Payam of Twic County, Warrap State, resulting in the death of one herdsman.

According to local sources, the attackers raided cattle from the area in a swift operation, sparking a response from community members. The stolen livestock was later successfully recovered after a brief pursuit.

Despite the recovery of the cattle, the incident turned tragic as one herdsman lost his life during the confrontation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially released.
