If dragons will be real, what will be their biology?? 😁😁🤓
🔥🔥🔥A directed 3-6 meter jet of burning aerosol, hot enough to char meat, used for hunting and nest defense.

🐉 The dragon is a living hypergolic rocket with two paired cervical glands. The dorsal Fuel Gland ferments fat via symbiotic bacteria into a hydrophobic oil mix of diethyl ether, ethanol and alkanes — similar to the oil fulmars spit. The ventral Oxidizer Gland stores 30-40% hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinones in chitin-lined, catalase-negative sacs.

Fire starts in a reinforced Combustion Chamber at the base of the tongue. Like the bombardier beetle, it injects both liquids into a catalase-rich chamber. The enzyme explosively decomposes H2O2, releasing oxygen and 500°C+ heat, instantly vaporizing the oil. Contraction of cervical air sacs expels it as a pulsatile flamethrower.

Protection: Oral mucosa is heavily keratinized like a crocodile palate, coated in thick borate-rich ablative mucus. Blood shunts behind the jaw act as a counter-current radiator, and the dragon exhales while firing so superheated gas never enters the lungs.

Real-World Analogues: Bombardier beetle Brachinus, stomach-oil tubenoses, methane-producing gut bacteria.

Limitations: One second of flame costs ∼20-30% of basal metabolic rate in lipid synthesis. Requires days of recharging, high water intake, and leaves the dragon temporarily anoxic and vulnerable.

🧠 Does every research study need to discover something completely new?

One common misconception is that “novelty” means discovering something that has never existed in science before.

Not necessarily.

Science often progresses incrementally—by building on, testing, challenging, and refining what we already know.

Novelty can come from:

🔬 A new research question
👥 A new or understudied population
📊 A larger or better-powered study
🧪 A new biomarker or measurement
⚖️ A new comparison
🧠 A different interpretation or mechanism
🔁 Replication or validation
📚 A new synthesis of existing evidence

Even replication can be scientifically valuable when previous findings are uncertain, conflicting, or insufficiently validated.

So don't ask:

❌ “Has this been studied before?”

Ask:

✅ “What does my study add to what we already know?”

That is the real question behind research novelty.

Sometimes, scientific progress isn't about discovering something completely new.

Sometimes, it's about making existing knowledge more reliable.

What do you think?
Can replication be considered novel research? 👇

💊 Artificial intelligence is transforming drug discovery—but not by replacing scientists.

One of the biggest challenges in drug development is identifying a promising candidate among millions of possible molecules. Traditionally, this early discovery phase takes years of laboratory screening and optimization.

Today, AI is changing that process.

By analyzing vast biological and chemical datasets, AI can identify novel therapeutic targets and prioritize the most promising drug candidates, allowing researchers to focus their experimental work more efficiently.

A notable example is Rentosertib (ISM001-055), an AI-discovered drug candidate for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Early clinical studies have reported encouraging improvements in lung function together with a favorable safety profile, making it one of the most advanced examples of AI-assisted drug discovery currently in clinical development.

Although further Phase II/III studies are required, this progress highlights AI's growing role as a powerful research tool.

The future of medicine is not AI versus scientists—it is AI empowering scientists to make better discoveries, faster.

Businesses don't need more software.
They need more capable people.
And I think AI is changing what "capable" means.

Imagine having a teammate who can help 24/7, never forgets a task, drafts emails in seconds, creates marketing content, analyzes data, and keeps learning how your business works.

It's not about replacing people.
It's about giving every business a team that can do more with the people they already have.

Over the next few years, I don't think the biggest advantage will be having the largest workforce.
It will be to have the smartest combination of human talent and AI.

That's why I believe every small business should have its own AI department, not just large corporations.

This is the future we are excited to build.
