The video shows Arab men accompanying British troops near Rafah, Palestine, during the final days of the Ottoman era. The British had just entered Jerusalem.
Some of them, wearing the traditional Arab headdress, can be seen running across sand dunes and a small valley, followed by loaded mules.
The men sit on the ground, then, under the direction of a British officer, rise and climb the slope.
Equipment is then unloaded at a train station surrounded by barbed wire, the first time a border was marked in Ottoman territory.
A locomotive then enters the station, pulling a passenger car and two wagons loaded with supplies.
The mules bathe on the beach with their riders, then set off away from the coast.
