Madinet Masr (EGX: MASR.CA), one of Egypt’s leading urban developers, has been awarded the 2025 Sustainability Award by Amwal Al Ghad in recognition of its commitment to sustainable social initiatives and urban development.
The award highlights the company’s efforts in promoting resource efficiency, reviving heritage, and enhancing quality of life through its “Cultivating Communities” sustainability strategy. A key example is the Buyut Al-Khalifa project, aimed at restoring the historic urban fabric of Al-Rukbiyya Street in Historic Cairo.
This marks the second recognition this year, following the Heritage Project of the Year award by Invest-Gate for restoring the roof of Bayt Al-Razzaz in partnership with the Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation.
CEO Eng. Abdallah Sallam emphasized Madinet Masr’s vision of sustainability as central to real estate development, blending innovation with purpose to drive long-term social impact. Dena Habib, VP of Corporate Relations, reiterated the company’s balanced model of urban growth, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
Madinet Masr’s impact spans key areas including shelter, heritage revival, and social uplift. Partnerships with the Egyptian Food Bank, Al Joud Foundation, and Baheya Hospital have supported over 50,000 individuals with food aid, healthcare services, and awareness campaigns. The company also fosters entrepreneurship through its collaboration with Orange Corners Egypt, empowering youth across Upper Egypt and the Delta.
Through these initiatives, Madinet Masr reinforces its role as a purpose-driven developer aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
