Owner Carole Bryon DipWSET champions women in wine (natural and organic) with London’s only winelist dedicated to women wine makers alongside chef Matyas Plzak’s (formerly Frog by Adam Handling, Frenchie & Maos) simple French bistro cooking.

Full of charm, character and warmth which spills out onto the al fresco terrace and down to Forbidden Fruit, moody, perfectly lit speakeasy-style wine bar with 45 wines by the glass including many a chilled reds for the summer.

Thrilled to be working with Carole Bryon, on the launch of Lady of the Grapes SE1 and its underground speakeasy-style wine bar, Forbidden Fruit, opening in May. Housed in the impressive Menier Chocolate Factory building, it’s steps away from Borough Market and will champion organic and natural wines from female producers alongside modern French bistro fare from chef Matyáš Plzák (formerly of Frog by Adam Handling, Frenchie and Mãos).

This is a second venture for Carole, who is WSET-certified; she has a loyal following at her wine bar and restaurant in Covent Garden which launched in 2018.
