Marijn S is a Dutch producer and DJ who combines multiple contrasts in her raw, pure and timeless music. Embracing simplicity and tranquility, Marijn is also intrigued by darker, experimental, and complex music. Her artistic expression is characterised by the playful juxtaposition of these contrasts.
She’s played notable gigs such as De School (AMS) Garage Noord (AMS), Dekmantel Festival (AMS) and recently made her live performance debut for Speedy J's STOOR / PINK NOISE during ADE, playing only with her so described ‘machine of self expression’. One hour full of her own creations, ranging from textured ambience and dreamy IDM to heavy distorted bass, abstract noise and heavy hitting electro & techno.
Her most recent EP, Digital Tears, is entirely composed and produced using the Elektron Machinedrum MKII. Some tracks, like Digital Tears and Soft Fall, were recorded in a single take to capture the raw energy, live vibe, and personal touch that come from working with analog equipment.
