Folía Sound is a musical project born on the African islands of Cape Verde, the result of the union of two artists passionate about culture:
•Positif Selector, born in Barcelona, has been a lover and selector of world music for over 30 years. He has experience in various fields of the cultural industry, including event production, road manager, cultural promoter, radio program management and much
more.
•Sista Kaká, born on the island of Santo Antão in Cape Verde, is a multifaceted artist who combines her passion for music and nature with her talent as a painter, event producer and Reggae Music Selector. in Cape Verdean Creole and is a word closely associated with Carnival, a very celebrated festival in these islands. Folía Sound unites the festive and joyful spirit of Carnival with the message and positive energy of the Jamaican Sound System. Folía Sound creates a special selection for each event with the most varied artists and styles of Reggae Music (Roots, Lovers, Ragga, Dub, etc.). Although Reggae usually marks their sessions, they also work with other World Music sounds such as African, Latin, Gypsy, etc. Folía Sound has a strong connection with art in all its aspects, which is why, whenever possible, they invite other musicians, singers, dancers, painters, poets, etc. creating unique moments with Live Painting, Slam Poetry, Dub Jam's, Performance, etc. Positif Selector and Sista Kaká intend to continue expanding the Folía Sound project, performing shows in different countries and collaborating with other artists.
