In a society where many people are not even capable of giving up their seats for the elderly or people with disabilities, the courage and generosity of Pedro López have deeply moved me.
He put his own life in danger to save complete strangers. A heroic gesture that deserves everyone's gratitude, because any of us, our children, or our parents could have been in the place of those tourists.

Pedro not only saved three lives but also taught us all a great lesson.
In Spain, there are different forms of recognition for cases like this, for example, the "Civil Protection Merit Medal" (Medalla al Mérito de la Protección Civil), created precisely to reward acts of special courage in emergency situations, or the "Order of Civil Merit" (Medalla al Mérito Civil).
