To watch yesterday’s solar eclipse, my friends and I chose a special spot: the little white Chapel of Sa Talaia, overlooking San Antonio (Ibiza).
After a tough 30 minute climb, we reached the top and found the perfect view.

We thought only a few people would have had the same idea. We were wrong, the place was packed.

At first, though, it felt like all the effort might have been for nothing. The only cloud in the entire sky somehow managed to cover the sun at exactly the wrong moment. Disappointment was growing… until, literally at the last second, the sun broke through.

And suddenly, everything changed.

The suspense made the moment even more intense. What followed was an incredible spectacle, one of those experiences that makes you stop, look up, and simply feel.

My only personal regret? I was filming, and I don’t think I fully lived the moment as much as I should have.

Because there’s something deeply primal about watching the sun disappear. We’re so used to seeing it there, high above us just as our ancestors were. And on those rare occasions when it fades, vanishes, or refuses to appear, it seems to awaken something ancient inside all of us.

Maybe that’s why it felt so special.
