The legal battle is over, and the clock has officially run out. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has officially denied emergency requests from a bipartisan group of lawmakers to extend the stay on enforcement.
This means there is no more time. If you own a bar, convenience store, VFW, American Legion, or fire hall, the 120-day grace period expires at midnight this Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Here is the newest, critical information issued by state authorities that you need to know immediately:
🛑 "Switching Off" is NOT Enough: The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and State Police have made it clear that machines must be physically removed from the premises, not just powered down or unplugged. If an illegal machine is on your floor on Wednesday morning, it is subject to immediate seizure.
🚔 Seizures and Charges Begin Wednesday: Starting Wednesday, October 14, law enforcement will begin active enforcement sweeps. Non-compliant businesses face criminal gambling charges under the Crimes Code, and police will confiscate the machines, associated equipment, and all cash proceeds inside them.
💰 The Revenue Standoff: Small business groups and nonprofits across PA are panicking—hosting rallies this weekend to protest the ban. These 70,000 machines generate vital revenue for local pubs and veterans' clubs. While state lawmakers have debated taxing them (with proposals ranging from a flat $500 monthly fee up to a heavy 52% tax model), the General Assembly failed to pass a bill before the court's strict deadline.
⚠️ Liquor License Liquidated: If you operate under a PLCB liquor license, keeping these now-illegal slot machines on your property is a fast track to losing your license.
Lawmakers are not scheduled to return to session before the deadline, meaning the ban is going into full effect. If you host these games, you must clear them out by Tuesday night to protect your business.

🚨 IS TESLA OR WAYMO COMING FOR SCRANTON UBER AND LYFT JOBS? Please Share This Post! 🚨Is it only a matter of time? Here is the real truth behind the self-driving vehicle takeover.
If you’ve been scrolling through social media lately, you might have seen viral videos and rumors about autonomous "Robotaxis" and gold Tesla Cybercabs taking over Pennsylvania roads. Naturally, rideshare drivers and local residents are asking: Is our local transport landscape about to disappear to a computer?
Let’s cut through the internet noise and look at the verified, official facts regarding what is actually happening in Pennsylvania right now:
📍 Fact 1: Cybercabs Are Staging in Devon and Pittsburgh, but far from Scranton right now. It is true that Tesla is establishing an early footprint in Pennsylvania. A fleet of roughly 35 gold Tesla Cybercabs was recently documented staged at a Tesla facility in Devon, PA near Philadelphia, with other developmental units spotted doing trial loops in parts of Pittsburgh. While there are absolutely zero staging hubs, test fleets, or autonomous contracts anywhere in Northeast Pennsylvania or Lackawanna County right now, the local landscape could completely shift over the next three years. Once Tesla gets the green light for driverless cars in Pennsylvania, it could definitely spread out to Scranton.
🗺️ Fact 2: Waymo and Aurora are Locked to Specific Cities
Other major autonomous giants are aggressively testing in PA, but their boundaries are strictly controlled: *Waymo vehicles are strictly mapping and driving in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
*Aurora Innovation is focusing its heavy autonomous semi-trucks, which are locked to specific shipping corridors in the western and southeastern parts of the state.

This emphasizes that our local Northeast PA roads remain completely untouched by these autonomous fleets for the time being.
🛑 Fact 3: They Aren't Actually "Driverless" Yet
Despite the Tesla Cybercabs being manufactured without a steering wheel or pedals, they are legally forbidden from driving themselves on public PA highways. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has confirmed that these vehicles are strictly operating under Level 2 automation. This means a licensed human safety driver must sit inside the vehicle and maintain full legal responsibility and physical control at all times.
📜 Fact 4: The Massive Legal & Regulatory Roadblocks
Nobody needs to panic about an overnight takeover. To launch a commercial driverless passenger service in PA, companies must jump through massive hoops:

*PennDOT Rules: A company must be granted an advanced Certificate of Compliance from the state to test true driverless systems (Levels 3 through 5). Tesla does not currently hold this permit for driverless highway operation in Pennsylvania.
* Federal Audits: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has an active, ongoing safety audit into these autonomous units, heavily pausing any wide-scale commercial rollouts across the country until safety metrics are proven.
* Local Friction: Expect heavy pushback from local driver unions and city councils before these ever get permitted for commercial deployment on local streets.

🌟Preserving Scranton’s History: A New Chapter for Number 14 Annex 🏫✨ Please Share This Post 📫 🙏
🏫 Tucked away in the heart of West Scranton’s Hyde Park neighborhood sits a beautiful piece of local history the historic Number 14 Annex (part of the former Lincoln-Jackson Elementary School complex). Opened in 1911 on Academy Street, this classical red-brick structure originally connected to the main Abraham Lincoln Elementary School via an underground tunnel. While the main school building was demolished in 1976, this surviving annex welcomed generations of local kids before officially closing its doors as a working school in 2011.
🏫 The school was closed as part of a district consolidation plan when the brand-new Isaac Tripp Elementary School opened nearby, replacing older neighborhood buildings that lacked modern layouts and required costly infrastructure upgrades.
🏫 For nearly a decade, the landmark sat vacant. But instead of being lost to demolition, a thoughtful adaptive reuse project gave it a brilliant second act, transforming the old classrooms into 13 modern senior living apartments managed by local developer ATR Properties.
Here is a look at the project's Sale Timeline Breakdown:

🏫 September 2019: Developer Art Russo (ATR Properties) submitted the winning bid of $51,000 at a school district property auction.
🏫 April 2020: The Scranton School Board voted to formally approve the sale.
🏫 July 2020: The final deed was officially recorded with the Lackawanna County Recorder of Deeds office, allowing the redevelopment into senior apartments to move forward after a brief delay involving testing for an old underground heating oil tank on the site.
