⚠️THE MUSE OF THE ATOLLOS // (Fragment)

“Everyone says I’m crazy. They don’t believe me. I’ve gone to psychiatrists to get them to explain things to me, I tell them I see things and they can’t give me an explanation. Then they want to give me pills and I don’t take anything, because pills are for crazy people and I’m not crazy. I think that crazy people don’t reason and I do. My husband doesn’t get involved, he’s left me this room for my troubles, he leaves me alone, because he knows that the paintings relieve me, make me feel better. When I wasn’t painting yet, I had worse times. Once I finished everything that was inside the house and nobody could stop me.
At night I can be sleeping and see how I float, I feel as if I were in the air, but I know that I’m not floating. Or I can see that I’m sitting near the bed and at the same time be aware that that can’t be possible, I talk to her, she’s like my double, I’m myself, she’s my muse that doesn’t sleep (…)”

(...) Then I say: “I’m going to clean the room,” and they, in their suits, try to keep it from raining. Because they think that the fault of the crazy weather is the Americans’. If there is a cyclone: the Americans! Sometimes I am delighted when it rains because I can clean without having to carry buckets: with the water that falls
through the leaks I can clean. Other times I worry because it rains, ahhh, and the roof can fall; but in the end I fooled them, and I fooled luck, because what is a problem for me I turn into a help for cleaning. Ah, yes, I fooled luck!

⚠️CLARA’S FACES // (Fragment)

(…) “I remember that one day I ran out of paint and they gave me a good number of jars of tempera paints that were Prussian Blue, black, white and grey, and I said to myself: What do I do with these colours? I was used to using a lot of colour. And I remember that when I saw myself with that I said to myself: let’s see what comes out of this”. I began to paint, for example The Little Blue House, The Fist, then a work called The Man, and all of them break with what I had done before. That is where my Blue Period begins.”

⚠️Who was MIROSLAV TICHÝ (Czech Republic, Kyjov, 1926 -1960)?

A dissident imprisoned by the Russian regime?
A misfit who had to be re-educated?
A madman who was admitted to psychiatric hospitals?
An artist who sought the beauty of imperfection?
An indiscreet photographer, looking for the subtleties of female sensuality?
A work made over 25 years with a handmade cardboard camera, built by the artist himself!

All this and more about his work during the Microfestival delle COSE UMANE 2024, organized by Cavallo Blu, from 4 to 13 October, Palazzo Broletto, Pavia (Italy)

⚠️Marco Avaro (Italy, 1989), is an outsider artist who lives and works in Carmagnola (IT).Since childhood was inclined towards plastic art, although he shares this passion with hardcore, techno, rap music and rave. His paintings represent women, madonnas and the demons that torment his mind. He has exhibited in various locations in Piemonte and in Vigevano. His work includes painting, sculpture, photography and video. His most recent exhibition was organized last month, by CAVALLO BLU (integration, rehabilitation and social inclusion), in the Ex Fornace space - via Alzaia Naviglio Pavese 16 (Milano)
