We’ve been a bit quiet here lately…
Basically because we’ve just been really busy. But we’ve also felt really unsettled.
We left Madrid at the beginning of the month, came back to the UK and have basically been travelling around ever since. Catching up with the people we love, sorting the final bits for our move and counting down the days until we can finally go home. 🇪🇸
Before leaving Madrid, we gave Power of Attorney to our lawyers so they could sort our NIEs while we were back in the UK.
Turns out moving countries involves quite a lot of paperwork. Who knew? 🙃
After two months, it was time to pack up our temporary Madrid apartment and get ready to head back to the UK.
Very strange leaving somewhere knowing that the next time we come back, we’ll actually be moving here. 👀

We arrived in Madrid at the beginning of June with no idea where we’d end up living. Two months later we left knowing we would have a proper home to come back to.
Still can’t quite believe that.
And so began one final stint of living out of bags, bouncing around the country and generally having no idea where anything we own is. 🇬🇧😂
Fruit and veg always seems to taste of nothing when we come back from Spain, but not at Granny’s allotment. 🙌🏼
Ady was very happy helping herself to the good stuff while catching up with our London fam. ❤️
All the legal stuff came back clear, so we signed the arras contract on our apartment and paid the non refundable deposit. 🥹🔑
Probably the biggest tick on the to do list this month - our Madrid home is officially happening.
Really needed this weekend ❤️
Friends for life, wherever in the world we happen to be. We’ve spent years being the ones who come and go, so we can’t wait to finally have them to stay with us for a change.
Finally got our apostilled marriage and birth certificates back 🙌🏼
Another boring, but very important job ticked off and one step closer to getting our Spanish residencies.
Spent the latter part of August wondering where summer had gone. 😂
After two months of Madrid sunshine, being back in the Great British weather has taken some readjusting. ☁️
