Nënë Tereza – Shqiptarja që nderoi njerëzimin

Më 14 gusht 1989, për herë të parë, Nënë Tereza shkelte tokën mëmë. Pas dekadash të gjata ndalimesh e pengesash nga regjimi komunist, dëshira e saj e kahershme për të vizituar varret e nënës dhe motrës, të cilave nuk mundi t’u qëndronte pranë në çastet mortore, u bë realitet. Vetëm gjashtë muaj më vonë, më 14 shkurt 1990, Ajo do të pajisej edhe me nënshtetësinë shqiptare – një akt simbolik, që vulosi përjetësisht lidhjen e saj me kombin.

Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, e lindur më 26 gusht 1910 në Shkup, bijë e Nikollë Bojaxhiut nga Mirdita dhe Drane Barnajt nga Gjakova, do të bëhej një prej figurave më të ndritura të shekullit XX. Shqipëtarja trupvogël, me zemër të madhe, iu kushtua gjithë jetën të varfërve, të braktisurve dhe të harruarve të botës. Për përulësinë dhe sakrificën e saj të pashembullt, në vitin 1979 u nderua me Çmimin Nobel për Paqen, duke bërë që e gjithë bota të mësonte kombësinë e saj shqiptare.

Rruga e saj nisi më 1928, kur la Shkupin për t’u vendosur në Kalkutë të Indisë. Atje shërbeu si mësuese, më pas si drejtoreshë e shkollës së vajzave, por thirrja e shpirtit e çoi drejt një misioni më të madh. Në vitin 1951 themeloi urdhrin e famshëm “Misionaret e Dashurisë”, që u bë shtëpi shprese për qindra mijëra njerëz të harruar.

Në mesin e viteve ’80, pasqyra e veprimtarisë së saj ishte tronditëse në madhështi: kujdestaria e mbi 7,500 fëmijëve në 60 shkolla; mjekimi i gati një milion të sëmurëve në 213 dispanseri; trajtimi i dhjetëra mijëra viktimave të lebrozës në dhjetëra klinika; përkujdesja ndaj mijëra të moshuarve të braktisur dhe adoptimi i qindra fëmijëve jetimë. Çdo shifër ishte një jetë e shpëtuar, një dhimbje e lehtësuar, një shpresë e ringjallur.

Nënë Tereza do të mbetet përgjithmonë shqiptarja humaniste botërore, që me rrënjët e saj shqiptare nderoi kombin tonë në sytë e njerëzimit. Ajo është dëshmi se madhështia e një kombi nuk matet me territore apo pasuri, por me bijtë e tij që i japin dritë botës.

Urgjente – Një jetë varet nga ne!

Klementina është vetëm 31 vjeç — në moshën kur jeta duhet të jetë plot ëndrra dhe shpresa. Por sot ajo lufton për frymën e saj, sepse veshkat i funksionojnë vetëm 10%. Shpresa e vetme për të mbijetuar është një transplant i menjëhershëm veshke.

Ky transplant jetik duhet të kryhet në UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital në SHBA. Por kostoja është e papërballueshme: mbi 100,000 euro. Një shumë e pamundur për një familje të zakonshme, por një shumë që ne, si njerëz, si komunitet, si shqiptarë, mund ta bëjmë të arritshme.

Koha është armiku më i madh i Klementinës. Çdo ditë që kalon, shanset e saj pakësohen. Por çdo dhurim, qoftë edhe më i vogli, është një hap drejt shpëtimit të saj. Dhe çdo shpërndarje e këtij apeli është një zë më shumë që thërret për jetën.

May God Have Mercy on Us: The World Has Failed Gaza

The world stands in silence as Gaza burns. For months, the cries of children have echoed through broken streets, prayers have risen from shattered mosques, and a people have buried their dead under the weight of bombs. Yet the great nations, the so-called defenders of human rights, have done nothing. Worse than nothing—they have turned their backs.

We have failed Gaza. We have failed the Palestinian people.

Every day brings another image of a lifeless child pulled from the rubble, of mothers clutching fragments of their families, of fathers staring into the void where once stood a home. And every day, we—humanity—scroll past, shake our heads, or whisper our sympathies. Our silence has become complicity. Our indifference has become a weapon.

When history is written, it will not only record the massacres and the siege. It will also record our cowardice. It will ask why the world’s most powerful voices muted themselves when truth demanded thunder. It will ask why nations that claim to defend freedom stood idle as an entire people were stripped of it.

This is not just about Gaza. It is about us all. Because if the world can watch an open-air prison be bombarded, starved, and suffocated—and call it “self-defense”—then justice has lost its meaning. If children can be slaughtered with impunity, then international law is a graveyard of empty promises.

“May God have mercy on us.” That is all we can say as humanity stands on trial. Because we have allowed Gaza to bleed alone, we have allowed Palestine to weep alone, and we have betrayed the very idea of human dignity.

Mercy may come from God. But history will not forgive us.

Genocide in Gaza Is Not Self-Defense — It Is Genocide, Funded and Defended by the West

Let us be clear: what is happening in Gaza is not war, not defense, not “security operations.” It is genocide. A deliberate campaign to erase a people, to starve them, to bomb them into silence, to wipe their very existence from the map.

And this genocide does not happen in isolation. It is armed, funded, and politically shielded by the United States, by Canada, by Europe, by Australia, and by every so-called democracy that dares to lecture the world about human rights while writing checks for slaughter.

Israel does not act alone. Every missile that falls on a school, every hospital reduced to rubble, every child buried in dust carries the fingerprints of Western capitals. This is not just Israel’s crime — it is the collective crime of the global powers who cheer from the sidelines, who veto resolutions, who send weapons instead of aid.

They call it “self-defense.” But self-defense is not the bombing of refugee camps. Self-defense is not starving two million people. Self-defense is not targeting journalists, doctors, and children. This is genocide. And the world must have the courage to name it.

Every day Gaza stands as a mirror, showing us who we are. And what it reveals is terrifying: nations built on the ashes of colonialism, now standing proudly as sponsors of ethnic cleansing. Leaders who trade morality for political alliances. Societies that scroll past the dead as if human lives were disposable.

The blood of Gaza is not only on the hands of Israel. It drips from Washington, from Ottawa, from London, from Brussels, from Canberra. From every capital that chose silence over justice, weapons over peace, complicity over humanity.

History will not call this defense. It will call it what it is: a genocide, and a betrayal of civilization itself.
