«What is the effective charge of a certain kind of bass sound, or particular rhythm?» This is what Simon Reynolds asks himself in the in

troduction of his emblematic book Energy Flash – a journey through rave music and dance culture. Those of us who embarked upon the journey of electronic music have sooner or later wondered about the emotions its beats bring forth. Rhythm Cult is our contribution to this fundamental question. From its conception, we have provided this project with the experience and vision gained over more than two decades of work at the very heart of electronic music. We have extended our commitment not only to the design but also to the core of our work – rhythm. Founded in 2014 by DJ and producer Paul Loraine, Rhythm Cult appears as a record label aspiring to be a link between rhythm and that feeling of mutual understanding these great sounds create among those of us sharing its tune. Here you will find electronic music at its most cherished expression, from music to events. All beyond genres and styles – we will not forget our origins nor reject the most current sounds. We see artists as the cornerstone of creation. They are the stars, and our premise is to provide them with a platform where they are completely free to express themselves. That is why we choose to work with those musicians who inspire us, and as their fans, we are the first ones to recommend what they do. Within Rhythm Cult you will find three labels, one for each release format: Rhythm Cult Music (RCM) for vinyl and digital. Rhythm Cult Records (RCR) for vinyl only. Rhythm Cult Digital (RCD) for digital-only. Then again and beyond their formats, music alone answers Simon Reynolds’ question – it is through the rhythm of the emotions that brings us, taking over our ears and making us dance, that all of our albums are linked. From The Cult Agency, we work to organise venues and experiences with the Rhythm Cult signature sound, allowing us to display every revealing and fascinating little thing that electronic music continues to generate around us to this day.

Various Artists - RCA001

A1. Jim Rivers - Digitalis
A2. Satoshi Fumi - Fractale
B1. Mark Jackus & Michael Wardemann - Capri
B2. DCLVIII OFC - TBONTB (Original Mix)

Four tracks that move. Jim Rivers opens with the cerebral “Digitalis” before Satoshi Fumi pulls you deeper with “Fractale.” Flip it – Mark Jackus & Michael Wardemann lock into “Capri’s” hypnotic groove, then DCLVIII OFC closes hard with “TBONTB.”

This is what we do. Curated, considered, committed to wax.

Rhythm Cult’s Cultcast Episode 048 – Trevor Fung

Our 48th Cultcast is now live on Mixcloud, and it’s a legendary one.

We welcome Trevor Fung a true originator of Balearic culture and one of the earliest architects of the Ibiza sound. A trailblazer, acid house pioneer, and musical spearhead of the earliest Shoom parties, Trevor’s White Isle connections were the catalyst for the burgeoning house movement in the UK.

Deeply rooted in the UK underground club scene with a career spanning over 40 years, Trevor’s selections capture the soul, house, acid, and open-minded spirit that shaped the original dancefloor movement. A dedicated curator, genuinely passionate selector, and master of the slow groove he continues to inspire with sets defined by warmth, history, and effortless flow.

Opening with CLAAP!’s Caracas and Gordon Kaye’s Galactic Ride, the journey moves through The Machine Soul, Jezebell, and Viper Patrol, before expanding into selections from Zillas on Acid, Optimo Music, Marshall Watson, VEEZO, Nicola Cruz, Bufi & Kubebe, Tegel Boys, and ACIDSEX. Closing with Ludviq & Sergione, Suggestive, Carl Craig & Green Velvet, Thomas Gandey, and Boys Shorts, Trevor signs off with timeless energy and true dancefloor spirit.

Rhythm Cult’s Cultcast Episode 047 – S/A/M

Our 47th Cultcast is now live on Mixcloud, and it’s a beautiful one. We welcome S/A/M, the DJ alias of Samantha Bagg – a Scottish–Sri Lankan, Ibiza-based artist with residencies at Pikes, Café del Mar, and The Apartment at [UNVRS], where this mix was recorded live. A seasoned performer and passionate selector, S/A/M brings warmth, groove, and musicality shaped by years of live shows, radio, and event curation stretching back to the early 2000s.

Opening with Don Carlos’ Mediterraneo and Mille & Hirsch’s Pentagon Flow, the journey unfolds through Fred Everything’s Paintings, Tuccillo’s Strangers, and Mallin’s Set Me Free. The energy rises with Frankie Knuckles & Director’s Cut’s The Whistle Song (Supernova Remix), Shonky’s Le Velour (Larry Heard Remix), and Luca C & Brigante’s Invisions featuring Róisín Murphy – weaving classic soul with shimmering house textures.

As the mix deepens, Audrey Loud’s Deeper, Rhode & Brown’s Sendling Sidewalks (Manuel Darquart Remix), and Pat Bedeau featuring DJ Romain’s Back In The Day glide effortlessly into Romanthony’s Let Me Show You Love (Kevin McKay Remix) – each transition reflecting S/A/M’s elegant instinct for the dancefloor.

Closing with Sueño Latino & Manuel Göttsching’s Sueño Latino (Original Paradise Version), Axnér & John Morales’ Shout From The Rooftop (John Morales M+M Main Mix), The Strike Boys’ Vida la Revolución (Faze Action Dub), Tigerbalm featuring Farafi’s Nina (Elado Remix), and Dubble D’s Blunder (SWAG Remix), S/A/M signs off with a timeless selection full of spirit, joy, and deep love for house music.
