Radical self acceptance comes as a result of having willingly ventured down a path of self inquiry in order to better understand who you are beyond the surface layers. The deeper you go, the more that surfaces in your awareness which can be pretty unsettling as the ego looses its grip on the identities that previously served you in a state of un-awareness. When your familiar and comfortable beliefs are challenged, the ego starts to kick back which calls for you to become comfortable with being uncomfortable, something that most of us try to avoid!

The internal battle between your identities and ego beliefs and higher state of awareness creates a unique journey back to your true self. When these aspects surface, it’s an invitation and opportunity to acknowledge them without self judgement however uncomfortable they may make you feel. They’re not surfacing to punish or shame you, they’re surfacing to be acknowledged, forgiven and released - this is the most direct route of healing back to wholeness. It’s not something you can rush or force yourself through, your subconscious will only allow certain aspects to surface that you’re ready to release because it’s always acting on your behalf for your own best interest and sometimes that means protecting you until you’re ready. The subconscious is not something to fear, deny or hide from but instead a powerful tool that can help you to expand your self awareness and return to your deepest truth found in higher consciousness.

A greater capacity for self acceptance is gained after allowing the icky parts of yourself to surface and be acknowledged compassionately and without self judgement. What usually follows is an opportunity to put this acceptance into practice through an actual lived experience. You might not be aware in the moment that something happening in your reality, is that very opportunity. It may only occur to you after the event whilst you’re reflecting on whatever you’d experienced. When you do make the connection, your perception of the situation will likely change from being something that happened to you, to the realisation of it being something that you unknowingly created into your reality and awareness for your own expansion and embodiment through that lived experience.

Here’s how this played out with me recently….

Last week, after being made aware through others facing similar issues, I realised that I had some very strong feelings and beliefs around responsibility that had been in my blind spot for a long time. It felt uncomfortable admitting it to myself the ways in which I’d kept it hidden and how it had played out in my life so far for better and for worse. After letting these thoughts and feelings surface, I tried leaning into them with curiosity rather than shying away from them in denial and I was able to take comfort knowing that it was something that had helped me in the past but was no longer necessary anymore and therefore something that was ready to be brought back into balance. You’d think it would’ve stayed fresh in my mind but no, life kept me busy and distracted, as life does, so when the opportunity arrived in my awareness to put it to the test, I completely forgot and dived head first into a scenario which triggered all kinds of uncomfortable feelings related to responsibility - hands up, that’s all on me!

One rather large meltdown later……and I couldn’t fail to notice how my bodily sensations were all pointing to nervous system deregulation. My mind was racing, my heart was pounding, I was sweating and shallow breathing - quite the opposite of my normal composed self. That was when I finally caught myself and realised what was happening, I took a breath and took a moment to reboot. I saw how my fears and feelings of responsibility were playing out in realtime and had triggered me so much that I’d lost my awareness in the moment and was reacting as I’d done in the past from a past memory. This time though, instead of berating myself for feeling this way and trying to run from it, I faced it head on and accepted it as something that was coming up for me to experience differently. I let the emotions keep moving without squashing them into a more palatable lady-like submission. By releasing it without judging myself, it helped me to process the situation quickly, regroup my thoughts and respond in a better way for everyone involved. Once my nervous system and body relaxed my mind cleared and plan B calmly went to plan without any further problems. The situation went from chaos to calm and I got to spend extra time with my best friend as an added bonus!

My note to self went something like this -

Remember that anyone that you’re connected to, can and will be playing an important role to create the perfect opportunity for you to experience expansion. It will likely trigger you somehow! It’s not personal, it’s not punishment and they’re completely unaware of the role that they’re playing in your awareness. It’s an invitation (of your own unknown creating) for YOU to see it and help YOU to make peace with whatever it’s stirring up inside of you. Responding with self compassion instead of guilt and denial lets it be experienced more objectively playing through you rather than it becoming an ingrained part of your identity.
You can let go and let God…. and breathe more!

We are all the creators of our own lives and whilst it’s normal to feel that things are sometimes out of our control, the only real control that exists, is how we choose to react or respond to what we experience. With awareness or without it. When we can accept all of our life's experiences, our feelings and emotions without self judgement, guilt or shame, we loose the resistance to experiencing a shift and expansion in consciousness that makes it impossible to project judgement guilt or shame onto anyone else. Radical accountability leads to radical acceptance - the dream team that restores peace and freedom to you and everyone connected to you, every time.

What am I worth?

Being back in my home town recently reminded me of where my perception of worthiness all began. Walking passed the coffee shop where I started working at 13 reminded me of this and much more. I didn't need the job but I wanted it to gain a sense of independence and purpose which it did, along with many blisters from being on my feet all day! The pay was awful and the work was demanding but being useful gave me a feeling that I enjoyed and this is what kept me going back each weekend for a couple of years. At some point though, I realised how hard I was working for such little pay and I decided to look for another job in my village and found my upgrade working evenings at an Italian restaurant. Here I worked for many years on the weekends and throughout university, I made friends for life there and it showed me that my hard work was valued. During the daytime at the weekends I also worked as a cashier at WHSmith. I loved feeling capable of earning my own money and not needing to rely on anyone else for it, this independence was something that became a strong identity in me and later something that helped me to understand how income often gets mistaken for our sense of worth.

After university I started working in Liverpool as a music and movement leader for a mums and babies group which I loved. This role really showed me how much of a positive impact music has on us all from tiny babies to exhausted mothers! I then moved to Manchester and got a job as the first teacher to be driving a mobile keyboard classroom around schools in the North West - a converted ford transit high top with a stowaway cat more than once 🙀 The franchise quickly grew and expanded and became a great success. Inspired by this, I decided to start my own music business to make use of my composition skills running music workshops and working as a session player which led to me writing music for a TV series and many other media outlets over several years. During this time, I also worked as a piano teacher and at the oldest music shop in Manchester selling musical products to schools. Later I became a youth music coordinator at the Arts Council that assisted teenagers in setting up bands and I wrote music for commission for private clients. Throughout all these many different roles, I learned that being of service to others whilst doing something that I loved was giving me a great sense of self worth and enjoyment as well as income.

When I moved to Spain all aspects of my life shifted, I continued teaching piano and composing music but the pace was much slower than before. After years of non-stop working in Manchester, I was ready to take a breather. Family life became my new priority and getting married and having two children took me into that next chapter. For the first time in my life I had to let go of the reigns of my financial independence and learn to trust that being a mum was enough of a job which in honesty, I found a struggle. When I was looking after the children I was feeling frustrated and lacking in self worth from not earning like I did before and it didn't feel good. To make things worse, when I was teaching (part time) I was feeling guilty for not being with my children. A double whammy of self created not enough-ness!

Looking back on these times I can clearly see how I misperceived my worth being tied to that of my earning capacity, an identity that I unknowingly learned from childhood. I know now that my worth has nothing to do with my income and that all of our worthiness is inherent and infinite even when our ego tries to convince us otherwise.

A Course in Miracles reminds us that money is just a neutral tool and that our true sense of security does not come from how much we have in the bank or from how much we earn. A truth that many of us find hard to swallow especially in the times we are living. If we do not feel secure from within, it doesn't matter how much money we accumulate or save up because the feeling of insecurity overrides everything that we experience. I know this personally from having felt at my most insecure was when I actually had the most saved up!

I love the practical application of Ho'oponopono that helps us to forgive the unknown parts of ourselves that believes that financial wealth defines our self worth and security.

I'm sorry for misperceiving my income as something that defines my worth
Please forgive me for forgetting that my worth is infinite and eternal
Thank you for showing me what is ready to be healed and released
I love you, I love being realigned with truth

This is not saying that we do not need money to live, of course we all do but feeling worthy and secure does not come from the money we make but from the remembrance of our true selves and inherent worth. This is something that we need to understand in order to release the memories we carry that have created this false perception and that cause us to live with feelings of insecurity and lack of self worth.

If you would like to explore this further and are interested in methods of releasing these kinds of misperceptions, you know where to find me!

It's been an emotional week in more ways than one with the start of the children's school holidays. Seeing my eldest graduate from primary school as a secure, kind, emotionally maturing bilingual 12 year old that started the school as a non-verbal anxious little boy, filled me with so much pride and gratitude for the journey he's undertaken. Even despite a serious bullying incident at school earlier this year, he's shown so much strength and resilience and unwavering kindness of heart. He took some important lessons from the incident, learning about different personality types and the importance of boundaries and how to implement them without feeling guilty for putting his own feelings before everyone else's. Understanding compliancy is something that took me a lot longer to learn! He also learned how to be discerning in his friendships and how to recognise what reciprocation looks and feels like, skills that are invaluable for starting his next chapter in high school.

Boundaries definitely became the theme of this week after Day 1 of the school holidays kicked off with tears, tantrums and too much screen time. After that, I proposed a Day Plan to help me to be able to work, entertain, cook and look after myself and my boys as best as I could through the holidays. My younger son wasn't happy about the screen time reduction and took it as a personal punishment that felt unjustified. Interestingly, I also felt his adverse behaviour that followed was unjustified punishment for trying to do the right thing. We were both perceiving the same thing in two completely opposing ways.

I noticed as the day progressed that the familiar old feelings of wanting to stop the uncomfortable tension and anger between us rumbled up inside me and I started to question if what I was doing was really for his best interests because it was making him so angry. But, by sitting with it and accepting it as something that was playing out through me, I knew in my heart that it was the right path to be taking so instead of trying to escape the uncomfortable feelings that were arising in me, I let them play out in full misery snot rolling glory. The day ended with us being exhausted and teary from the battling and emotionally pushed to our limits and as an added extra bonus, my elder son developed a painful ear infection which needed attention throughout the night. Before I finally slept I reflected back on everything that had gone on and all the things that had surfaced; boundaries, anger, unjustness, punishment, rejection, defiance, tension and I felt sorry for all of the upset that we'd experienced that day. I wearily thanked myself for having let these things surface without backing down from the newly enforced boundaries or running from the fallout of them. I vowed to fully let the day go so that I could rest and return to some much needed peace with my final words;

I'm sorry. Please forgive me, I love you. Thank you and GOODNIGHT!

I had no expectations when I woke up the following day to the sound of my boys bouncing around the living room but I knew instantly when I saw my youngest that the weight of the previous day had lifted. After a hug, he suggested a few ways to implement the day plan which he'd thought about and the anger and upset of the previous day was completely replaced by his willingness, he was ready to try it and I couldn't have felt more grateful and relieved. From there, the day unfolded with ease and even though we were busy at doctors appointments, visits and other things going on, it all flowed easily and happily. By the end of Day 2 he told me and his brother how much better he felt and didn't mind the changes as much as he thought. By the end of this week his whole perception of the time he spends on the iPad has done a full 180 - he's enjoying it more from using it less and his interests in all other activities have expanded rapidly bringing him so much more enjoyment.

Sitting in the fire is never comfortable but it's not going to burn you, what really burns is the avoidance of facing the issues that are left unseen and letting things get overlooked from not wanting to deal with the consequences and repercussions. Both my sons helped me greatly this week to see both sides of boundaries in action, those that push them and those that have their boundaries overstepped. From both angles we faced the challenges that were ready to be dealt with and by doing so, we've all benefited from the changes that came as a result.

As parents constantly supporting the needs of our children, we sometimes forget to put our own face masks on so if you would like to be supported and have your nervous system regulated to best enjoy the summer holidays, you know where to find me!

The only secure connection it seems! 😜

Just like a wifi connection can be hacked by external interference - so can our minds by our own thoughts. We tend to think that our thoughts are the truth because we're the ones thinking them and our nervous system is reacting to them through our senses ,but this is not the marker of truth...

One of the first steps of awakening comes through questioning the validity of your own thoughts and perceptions and for a good reason. A mind that's closed by thinking it already knows everything about itself, is not one that's ready to expand into the uncomfortable uncertainty of differing perceptions that could bring down it's entire belief system. This isn't something that you can force or intellectualise into being, it's something that you are either ready for or not.

From the questioning of our internal thoughts and dialogue, we start to open up to the possibility of a new way of being and from there, we shed layer after layer until we're stripped back completely and birthed into a new embodied way of being.

Just like routers can be interfered with via their wifi signal, falsifying data or stealing information, unfortunately so can our minds through our perception filter which is mainly dominated by the ego mind that wants to maintain the illusion of separation. But, when we know this and willingly work towards shifting our perception away from separation and back to the wholeness of our Higher Self, we reconnect with source - the most secure, reliable connection there is! always open and available to everyone. This connection isn't reserved for those deemed more worthy than others, it's an open channel that's available for each and everyone to rediscover if they wish to. Separation from source is created in the mind by our ego, clouding our connection with all of life's colourful distractions and reenforced by our lower self perception, but despite this, the higher self connection always remains.

All the times in life that you chose peace over drama, kindness over being right, compassion over blame - these are all moments of connection to source that you never even realised. Every time you feel love and the desire to express it through your words, your time or your actions, you're experiencing your unique connection to source, no matter what you call it.

Letting your thoughts be something that you observe rather than believe is one of the key teachings of Ho'oponopono and having just received my official certification as a Ho'oponopono practitioner, I'm about to start fully integrating it with frequency therapy in a monthly membership community. You'll be able to access 6 of my frequency tracks that focus on stabilising the nervous system, cleansing and balancing all the energy centres along with breathing techniques, meditations and my newsletter which covers various aspects of self discovery on the journey to awakening.

If this sounds like something that you’re ready to explore with me, you know where to find me!

The Power of the Word.

Spoken words communicate energy, emotion and meaning - they're supercharged forces that can create, enthuse, empower and optimise your own and others energy fields when spoken with positive intention. Words are powerful creative tools but in times when they're used carelessly or without discernment, they can also be destructive. The subconscious mind is not only listening to the words you hear from others but also the words spoken from your own mouth, so it makes sense to choose wisely the words that will impact both yours and everyone else's lives.

A positive verbal exchange between people benefits both parties from the coherent energy that's created in both people simultaneously. Public speakers sell out year after year because their audiences get hooked on both the content and the energetic coherence that they experience by being there listening to them. On the flip side, negative verbal exchanges negatively impact both the speaker and the receiver causing energetic incoherence for both parties. This incoherence can quickly spiral into anger and aggression like you see in road rage incidents that enflame rapidly.

It's easy to forget when we're having an emotional exchange with someone, that we still have a choice to communicate kindly and compassionately. All too often our emotions trigger our nervous system causing bodily sensations that further the experience and then without even realising it, it's become something we take personally from the meaning we give it. But, in recognising this chain reaction as it unfolds and wanting to diffuse the emotional fire within you rather than fuel it, you can do just that.

From a less reactive place it's easier to remember that we can choose words that cause upset to others or we can choose words that encourage and support them even if we're in a disagreement. As with all inner work, it always starts with ourselves and how we speak to ourselves is vital to understanding why we sometimes speak unkindly towards others. If we're speaking unkindly, judgemental words to ourselves it's not surprising that these same unkind judgemental words will also be projected outwards onto others. It's generally done unconsciously without intent to harm but nevertheless, it still can.

Noticing the ways in which you speak to yourself is the foundation of my work with Have a Word With Yourself. Through understanding yourself and the many identities that you carry, you can reveal the parts of yourself that are unconsciously causing disharmony in your life, not to berate or judge yourself but to acknowledge and let it be seen with love and acceptance. We all carry unconscious behaviours and emotional wounds that are playing out through us and without the awareness of these aspects, they'll continue to cause reactions in us that are not true to who we really are.

I integrate the ancient knowledge of Ho'oponopono because it teaches acceptance, forgiveness of our unconscious behaviours (data and memory) and guides us to back to our inherent innocence where we can experience peace and wholeness, the truth of who we are.

If you would like to explore how your words can positively impact your life and those around you, please get in touch and I'll be happy to explain in more detail what I do.

Thank you.

28/05/2026

This week I was reminded by a friend how gratitude is one of the most powerful and highest vibrational emotions we can feel. By willingly feeling gratitude towards someone, something or situation, no other lower level emotion can be experienced in that moment. The top trump card if you like!

Of course we can all be grateful for the people that make our lives easy, but it takes strength and emotional maturity to want to find gratitude for someone or something that's caused you some kind of suffering but by doing so, you're actually pushing through your own boundaries to experience them / it in a way that stops you from suffering. It's a WIN, WIN for you, both experiencially and in personal growth. These are the stepping stones that increase your self awareness and help you to push through old habits and thought patterns that cause you to repeat behaviours that cause you to suffer.

What I've observed in my experience is that, if we remove the judgement of behaviours as being right or wrong we can look at them from a more objective perspective, moving away from separation and instead towards wholeness that holds space for both to exist.

For example, someone who gives without boundaries or to the detriment of themselves is not giving but depleting themselves. By not taking care of their needs and having healthy limits, they'll continually encounter people that take advantage of them, not as a punishment but as a mirror to see what is going on in them that's contributing to their own suffering. The 'taker's' that they encounter are the doorways to self awareness and healing the unbalanced parts of themselves.

Speaking from personal experience, I'm grateful for all the times I was shown in life that I needed to learn how to make healthy boundaries. In realising my part that contributed to suffering this and seeing how it exposed the parts of me that were out of balance, I was able to adjust my choices, actions and behaviours which meant the 'problem' found it's natural solution. As a result, it's easy for me to feel grateful for being shown the things that've helped me to return to balance and peace. By feeling genuinely grateful, it's erased any residual feelings of resentment, anger or wrongdoing. What I've learned is that gratitude can be experienced at any moment, not just retrospectively.

The more willingly we use gratitude in any challenging moments or encounters with people, we stop feeling attacked or wronged and instead empowered by the insight that the encounter is giving us.

Here's an example of how this is applied through the Ho'oponopono prayer;

I'm sorry (to myself) for the unknown parts of me that have created this in my experience
Please forgive me and my unconscious behaviours (over-giving / lack boundaries)
Thank you for showing the parts of myself that are ready to be seen, healed and solutioned
I love you, I let it go and I let God.

The simple prayer not only helps you to take accountability for everything that shows up in your life but it also acknowledges that we all have things going on within us that we are unaware of, unconscious behaviour. The gratitude in thanking yourself for being shown what was ready to be seen and healed is a powerful way of transmuting the negativity of the person or situation into a higher vibrational emotion within you. Feeling grateful for having been shown something that's going to help your growth and personal evolution really is the highest trump card there is! Letting it go without self-judgement or judgement of others allows it to find the natural solution within you.

If you find this interesting and you're curious to know how you can apply gratitude with the Ho'oponopono prayer into your daily life, I'm running a 21-day frequency treatment that does just that! Send me an email to [email protected] and I'll send you a link to join. Thank you! 🫵

One for the ladies!

Today I was reminded how the past can quickly trigger the mind without realising it and hijack our feelings to go down a path of memory lane - all from a thought. Thankfully, I caught it, accepted it and used it as inspiration for today's post!

So here's an uncomfortable truth bomb - as much as we like to believe that us ladies are a sisterhood of support, reciprocal kindness and love for each other, it's sadly not the case. Separation and lack of awareness has caused women to reject, compete, fear and attack other women they deem as a threat to their happiness. This has been catalysed by narratives across social media, film and TV over the years causing a deep wound that affects how many women relate to other women. Normalising dysfunctional dynamics between women has become so widespread that many people don't even question their motives anymore and jump straight on the hater bus.

When women connect together with a higher level of conscious awareness there is no envy, no competition, no back chat, defamation or need to suppress any part of themselves or others to fully connect with them. This open transparency creates a powerful bond that empowers and uplifts everyone equally and reciprocally. Women that are aligned with their deepest truth carry an energy that can be felt beyond their words and the ability to see through the surface level experiences that they encounter. Aligned women carry a creative power that can change worlds not through brute force or domination but through balance and support.

The more self-aware we become, the more we look for connection not reasons to separate. We look for similarities in others not the differences and we offer our support openly for everyone's best interests. This isn't motivated by ego but the genuine desire to help others to elevate their own life experiences. Those that are ready to raise their awareness, feel drawn towards experiences that support them in doing so and those that are not will resist it.

Women supporting women is fundamental to rebalancing the world we live in right now. If we want to live with the equality that would positively impact all of our lives, we have to start with ourselves and address the grievances within us that we're carrying towards other women (unknowingly and knowingly).

When we accept that there are parts of ourselves that hold these beliefs, thoughts and feelings that separate us from other women, we can start to release them and the resistance it creates in our connection to one another.

Today I was picking up some groceries and I saw a woman dressed in lycra hot pants and bra top in the store. Whilst I was trying to remember the things I was shopping for, I noticed how her appearance made me feel uneasy and I let myself go with it for a little while. At first I was experiencing insecurity at seeing her perfectly shaped body and then I noticed how I started making judgements about how she was dressed, not because there was anything wrong with her fitness outfit but because I'm not confident enough to wear something like that - or fill it out quite like she did! Seeing her triggered an insecurity from my past memories of when I was insecure about my outer appearance. When I caught it and accepted it for what it was, a past insecurity, the feeling quickly dissolved and I carried on shopping peacefully. At the check-out the women was stood next to me and I noticed how instead of feeling uneasy in her presence, I felt calm and neutral towards her and actually started to admire her confidence. Why should she shrink to hide her beauty? she shouldn't and she didn't and I'm grateful for what it showed me about myself in that moment. Instead of letting an insecurity from my past run the show in that present moment, I was willing to acknowledge and accept it and as a result, I experienced her in a completely different way.

This got me thinking, how often as women we let our own insecurities ruin our connections with others and we don't even realise we're doing it. We let our minds create ideas, beliefs and experiences based on thoughts that are littered with our own past memories and experiences, clouding the truth and creating separation.

When we start to take responsibility for the hidden parts of ourselves that cause these thoughts and judgements to arise, we take a step closer to raising our conscious awareness which impacts our lives and the lives of all those around us.

As Marianne Williamson said so beautifully;
¨It is the light not the darkness that most frightens us¨

The power of women uniting is what frightens this world the most. Ancient civilisations that honoured women as their equals were the most prolific and celebrated because they ruled alongside men, not dominate or suppress them but to build in balance with them. Kings sat beside their Queens at the same level, neither one asserting dominance over the other, just equal support to build together in balance. Ever since this balance was lost to domination and suppression, women have been trying to restore it throughout history.

What we've forgotten to acknowledge is that the battle to reestablish this balance is not just with men, but also with other women and ourselves. We've been suppressed, devalued, objectified and put in competition with each other for what..... just to separate us from each other and turn us against each other in the process. If we want to end this cycle of separation and reunify with all women to restore the balance that this world is in such desperate need of, we need to start back at point zero with ourselves.

We can start by acknowledging our own grievances towards women in all the many ways that this shows up and accept that these grievances are not who we are and do not define us as women. We can show ourselves forgiveness for carrying these wounds unknowingly and knowingly and we can release them knowing that that it will benefit ourselves and all others in doing so. Sometimes we carry beliefs we don't even realise we have and these rarely shape our lives for the better!

I was willing to question my thoughts and feelings today because I know myself and I enjoy feeling connected to people so when feelings arose that were not aligned with who I am, it snagged me. Instead of projecting those feelings on to the other woman, I took accountability for it and it dissolved it which is something we can all do if we're willing to acknowledge that our thoughts and feelings are echos from the past, not facts of the present moment.

If this interests you and you'd like to be supported with this type of inner work to address issues relating to jealousy, envy, insecurity, competitiveness and any other behaviours that cause you to feel separation to other women in your life, please get in touch here or by email at [email protected] and I'd be happy to share what I've leaned on my journey so far.
