My fellow Ethiopians,

Our history is a story of courage, resilience, and unshakable pride. The world remembers the triumph of Ethiopia — a nation that stood firm when empires sought to break its spirit. The victory at Adwa was not merely a military success; it was a declaration that the soul of Ethiopia can never be conquered.

But, my brothers and sisters, history is not a destination — it is a foundation. We honor our past, but we cannot live in it. The question before us is no longer how we defended our freedom, but how we will now define our future.

Today, Ethiopia stands at the threshold of a new chapter. The challenges before us are different, yet just as great. The wars of our generation are not fought on the battlefield — they are fought in classrooms, in laboratories, in our farms, and in our hearts.

We must defeat poverty with innovation.
We must conquer division with unity.
We must overcome despair with hope.
