👉"የእግዚአብሔር መልአክ በሚፈሩት ሰዎች ዙሪያ ይሰፍራል፥ ያድናቸውማል" መዝ. 33 (34)፥7

አንድ አምላክ በሚሆን በአብ በወልድ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ስም አምነን የየካቲት ወር በባተ በዐሥራ ሁለት ቀን የመላእክት አለቃ የሚሆን የቅዱስ ሚካኤል የበዓሉ መታሰቢያ ቀን እንደሆነ እንናገራለን ክብር ምስጋና ይግባውና እግዚአብሔር በዚህች ቀን የመላእክት አለቃ ቅዱስ ሚካኤልን የራዐይት ሰው የሚሆን ወደ ሶምሶን ልኮት ሊገድሉት በወደዱ ፍልስጥኤማውያን ላይ ኃይልን ሰጥቶ ድል አድርጓቸዋልና። ከእነሱም በአንዲት ቀን በአህያ መንጋጋ ሺህ ሺህ ሰው በመግደል ፈጽሞ አጠፋቸው።
ከዚህም የተነሣ ውሃ ጠምቶት ለሞት በደረሰ ጊዜ የመላእክት አለቃ ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ተገልጾለት አጽናናው ከአህያም መንጋጋ ውሃን አፈለቀለትና ጠትቶ ከጥሙ ረካ።
የፍልስጥኤም ሰዎችም ድል በተነሱ ጊዜ ከሚስቱ ጋራ በመሻረክ ልዩ ዘዴ ፈጥረው ዓይኑን አጥፍተው ወደ ጣዖታቸው ቤት ወሰዱት።
ሆኖም የእግዚአብሔር መልእክተኛ የመላእክት አለቃ ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ተገልጾለት ኃይልን ስለሰጠው ሁሉንም ድምጥማጣቸውን አጠፋቸው።
ስለዚህ የቤተ ክርስቲያን መምህራን ሐዋርያት የመላእክት አለቃ ንዑድ ክቡር የሚሆን የቅዱስ ሚካኤልን የበዓሉን መታሰቢያ በየወሩ በዐሥራ ሁለቱ ቀን እናደርግ ዘንድ አዘዙ። ልመናው ጸሎቱ ለዘለዓለሙ ከእኛ ጋር ይኑር አሜን።

👉"ሁለቱም መላእክት በመሸ ጊዜ ወደ ሰዶም ገቡ፤ ሎጥም በሰዶም በር ተቀምጦ ነበር። ሎጥም ባያቸው ጊዜ ሊቀበላቸው ተነሣ፤ ፊቱንም ደፍቶ ወደ ምድር ሰገደ፥ አላቸውም፦ ጌቶቼ ሆይ፥ ወደ ባሪያችሁ ቤት አቅኑ፥ ከዚያም እደሩ፥ እግራችሁንም ታጠቡ፤ ነገ ማልዳችሁም መንገዳችሁን ትሄዳላችሁ። እነርሱም፦ በአደባባዩ እናድራለን እንጂ፥ አይሆንም አሉት። እጅግም ዘበዘባቸው፤ ወደ እርሱም አቀኑ፥ ወደ ቤቱም ገቡ፤ ማዕድ አቀረበላቸው፥ ቂጣንም ጋገረ እነርሱም በሉ።" ዘፍ. 19፥1-3

From Yekatit’s Encomium of Saint Michael
Believing in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we do proclaim that upon the twelfth day from the commencement of the month of Yekatit (February 19), the feast of the Archangel Saint Michael is to be observed. Glory be unto God, who on this day did send the Archangel Saint Michael unto the mighty Samson. Therein He bestowed upon him wondrous strength, and he did triumph over the Philistines who sought his life. Verily, he smote a thousand of them in a single day with the jawbone of a donkey.
Yet, for this mighty deed, his throat did parch, and he drew nigh unto death’s door. Then appeared Saint Michael, consoling him, and from the jawbone of the ass did bring forth living water, wherewith he quenched his grievous thirst.
When the Philistine folk did suffer defeat, they did contrive with his wife a cunning device, whereby they did blind him and bring him unto their temple of idols.
But lo, the messenger of God, the Archangel Saint Michael, appeared once more, and with divine strength did empower him, that he might smite all his foes and lay waste unto them.
Wherefore, the teachers of the Church have bid us hold the feast of Saint Michael upon the twelfth of each month. May his prayers and intercessions abide with us for evermore. Amen.
