“There may be those who measure Ethiopia by its challenges. Ethiopia’s future, however, does not rest on the absence of challenges. It rests on our collective capacity to overcome them.”
Opening Ethiopia Finance Forum 2026, H.E. Temesgen Tiruneh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, reflected on the significance of convening at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, drawing on its legacy as a symbol of resilience, unity, and national renewal.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Ethiopia's response to challenges must be rooted in deeper reform, stronger commitment, and sustained action. He noted that the country's future will be shaped not by the challenges it faces, but by the determination and partnership brought to overcoming them.
The keynote underscored that building Ethiopia's future requires collaboration across the financial ecosystem. Government, regulators, financial institutions, investors, technology providers, and the private sector all have a role to play in expanding opportunities for farmers, women, youth, entrepreneurs, and businesses across the country.
