๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ ๐จ๐ Ittu, Afran Qallo and Anniya:
๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง and ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ญ:-
The Oromo of Ittu, Afran Qallo and Anniya belong to the ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐/๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ confederation, one of the two main moieties of the ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐. They are bounded by the ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ in the west and south, the ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฎ and ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ in the ๐ง๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก west, the ๐๐๐๐ซ people in the north and the ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ข ๐ฉ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ in the ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ and ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ. They call their ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ โ๐
๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ โ. They are basically ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐ to ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ; the ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฎ, ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ and ๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐.
1).The ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฎ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ ocuppy the western part of ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ก๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ. Their home area is called โ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐ซโ or โ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฎโ. They are the people who are very close to the assembly of โ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆโ under which the tradition of the Barentuma Oromo adminstration system is kept.
The natural boundary between Ittu and Afran Qallo is ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ช๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ which is found near ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง. The boundary between Ittu and Anniya is the ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ.
2).The ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐จ Oromo lay to the east of ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฎ and ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก of ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐. They are largest of the three groups both in thier population and the area they occupy. They have four main divisions
called ๐๐๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐, ๐๐๐ ๐ (which is
subdivided to ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐, ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ and ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐) and ๐๐ฅ๐. It is not clear whether the land of Afran Qalloo has a unique name although some people call it
โ๐๐จ๐ซ๐จ ๐
๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ โ. Afran Qallo had a long tradition of โ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ขโ assembly which was held at a place called โ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐จ๐จโ near the town of ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ.
3).The ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ occoupy the lowlands of the former ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐๐. Their home area is called โ๐๐ข๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐โ or โ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐๐โ. With only few exceptions, they are pastoralists.
The boundary between ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ and ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ is the ๐๐จ๐ฃ๐จ๐จ ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐. The Anniya Oromo used to held their โ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐โ assembly at โ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐๐.
