The Birthplace of Jean in is the original childhood home of the famed Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865–1957), who spent his first twenty years here.

Set in a modest 19-century wooden house furnished to reflect the era, the museum presents period interiors, original artifacts and insightful displays tracing Sibelius’s early life, musical influences and formative years in a small but culturally vibrant town.

Visitors of all ages can explore the nostalgic rooms, follow the young composer’s journey from student to icon, and enjoy regular chamber concerts held on site — making this a compact, charming stop for families with older children visiting the Finnish Lakeland region.

Until 21:00 on Sunday, November 2, 2025, the Halloweenpolku Tuusula awaits visitors.

It is a 600-meter-long Halloween Trail featuring themed decorations, illuminated forest paths, music, and costumed visitors of all ages.

Along the trail, guests can enjoy treats, pop-up cafés, and small shops, creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere. Dogs are welcome on the trail by need to be on a leash. Card payments are accepted, kids under the age of 4 get in for free.

This autumn, Youth Theatre Helsinki is excited to offer a series of theatre classes for kids and teens aged 10–17. Running twice a week in Helsinki, these classes provide a fun, supportive, and creative environment where young people can explore acting, improvisation, storytelling, and movement.

Schedule:
Thursdays 15:00–17:00
Saturdays 11:00–13:00

First class: Thursday, October 23, 2025

Over the course of the term, participants will engage in playful group activities, acting exercises, and improvisation games that encourage creative thinking, collaboration, and confidence. Each session is guided by professional theatre practitioners, who help students explore their imagination and develop new performance skills, regardless of their previous experience.

Classes are taught in English, with support in Finnish and Swedish, making them inclusive and accessible to a diverse group of young people in Helsinki. Students will learn to express themselves creatively, work as part of a team, and build confidence both on and off the stage.

The focus is on the process of learning and exploring theatre and we aim to cultivate a love for creative expression, encourage curiosity, and provide a playful, inspiring space for all participants.

The team understands that some children may not be able to attend every session, and that’s perfectly fine — whether a child can join both weekly classes or only Thursdays or Saturdays, accommodations can be made, including possible adjustments to the course fee.

No previous theatre experience is required — all that’s needed is a curiosity for storytelling, imagination, and a willingness to play.

Until November 2, 2025 - welcomes guests every day. It is a themed park event held in the park of Puotilan Kartano in .

The area is decorated with thousands of carved pumpkins, skeletons, and light installations.

Visitors can walk along illuminated paths and see various Halloween-themed displays and photo spots. The event also features a café and small shops selling snacks, candy, glow-in-the-dark accessories, floating balloons, and other souvenirs.

is a historic estate owned by the Creutz count family for over 400 years, now in its 13th generation. The current two-storey manor house (castle) was built in the late 1800s in a style influenced by Northern French and Dutch neo-Renaissance architecture.

The guided castle tour lasts about 50 minutes and is led by Count Henrik Creutz, who shares stories of the manor’s history and modern operations.

In addition to the castle, the estate includes a working farm and a brewery. Visitors can explore the shop and café, which offer organic produce, beers, ciders, and other local products. A beer tasting is also available at the on-site pub. The tour runs during the warm months of the year; children under 7 join for free. The manor is located between Loviisa and Porvoo. Tours and tastings can be booked online on the manor's official website.

in is an indoor reptile zoo in Helsinki showcasing a wide variety of snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles, and other tropical reptiles. It has one of the most extensive collections of giant snakes and venomous species in the Nordic countries.

The center has been successful in breeding some rare species, contributing to reptile conservation. Visitors can explore terrariums designed to resemble natural habitats, with information provided in Finnish and English.
