BREAKING: Abia Mayors Hold Strategic Meeting with Governor Alex Otti.

Earlier today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, Ohafia Council Mayor, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu as well as other Local Government Mayors across Abia State held a strategic meeting with His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR Governor of Abia State, at his Country home.

The high-level engaging meeting was focused on strengthening local governance, accelerating grassroots development, and enhancing synergy between the state and local governments. Governor Otti during the meeting, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and impactful leadership across all levels.

During the meeting, the Mayors expressed renewed confidence in the leadership of Dr. Alex Otti, declaring, "Abia is in safe hands."

ABIA’S TORCH OF UNITY REACHES OHAFIA LGA AHEAD OF SECONDARY SCHOOL GAMES

The Executive Mayor of Ohafia LGA Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, received the symbolic Torch of Unity, marking the second edition of the Abia State Governor’s Secondary School Unity Games as they continue their stopover journey at the Ohafia Council Headquarters earlier today.

During the ceremony, the Sports Council official delivered Governor Alex Otti’s message of community empowerment and youth development through sport.

In an engaging address, the Mayor stated that the torch tour goes “beyond ceremony” it is a clarion call for peace, talent discovery, teacher-student collaboration, and grassroots sports mobilisation aimed at unearthing and grooming young talents while reinforcing unity through the beautiful game.

"As the Torch of Unity continues its journey through Abia, it carries more than flame, it bears the promise of a new sporting identity and social cohesion for the state’s youth" - Chief Eleanya reassured.

A delegation of participants from Ohafia LGA, who recently completed the TechRise Computer/Software Training Program, paid a heartfelt thank-you visit to the Executive Mayor of Ohafia, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The visit was an expression of deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the transformative program, which they described as a life-changing initiative that significantly boosted their career prospects. The trainees shared inspiring testimonials, indicating how the training, covering cutting-edge areas such as AI programming, Python, and web design, has already begun yielding tangible results.

Several participants revealed they had secured employment with tech firms and individual clients, crediting their success to the practical skills and mentorship received during the program. Their stories underscored the real-world impact of the initiative in addressing unemployment and preparing youths for the digital economy.

The delegation extended sincere appreciation to Chief Eleanya for his steadfast support of educational and youth development programs in Ohafia LGA. Ohafia Council Mayor Flags Off Solar-Powered Borehole Project in Isiugwu, Ania Ohafia.

The Executive Mayor of Ohafia LGA, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, has officially flagged off the construction of a solar-powered borehole at Omaghuzo New Layout, Isiugwu in Ania Ohafia.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, the Councilor representing Ania Ward, Hon. Kingsley Ajike, expressed deep appreciation to the Mayor for choosing Isiugwu for the project. He noted that the community had long suffered from water scarcity and that the project was timely and greatly needed. Hon. Ajike also gave firm assurances that the community would ensure the sustainability of the project beyond completion.

In his address, Chief Eleanya commended the community for their unity and urged the youths and local security groups to take full responsibility in safeguarding the borehole facility from vandalism. He emphasized that development can only be sustained when communities take ownership of public infrastructure.

The solar-powered borehole project is part of the Mayor’s ongoing efforts to enhance access to clean water and improve living conditions across the three communities in Ohafia LGA.

When Yar'Adua died, the whole country mourned from the North to the South. No one said anything bad about him because during his short time in office; southeners didn't even know or remember if he was a Fulani Muslim due to the fact that he had a balanced govement free from incompetencies, cluelessness and most importantly nepotism.

Instead what we observed was Nigerians rolling out his achievements within his 2 years in power and Nigerians praying for his soul.

Soludo Is A Disaster Who Cannot Match Peter Obi's Achievement In Anambra , SABMiller Is No 1

Those who rush to discredit Peter Obi out of hatred always miss his point due to their emotional stress in trying to find fault with him. And once they see a tiny space or hole, they go beserk in trying to denigrate and soil his impeccable record.

Governor Chukwu Soludo being one on top of the list in trying to please those who hate Peter Obi, fell for the trap and once again exposed himself as a man without character.

What was the point of directing his taxman to publish the list of top tax payers in Anambra if not chasing clout and emotional rollercoaster of a man, who do more to please those against Obi, than being a brother?

Now, he messed up big time with his allies trying to rubbish Obi’s claim.

As statistics showed, Peter Obi was correct, the top six tax payers in Anambra includes International Breweries SABMiller with N319.52 million.

Though it is number six, it is the number one or highest indigenous tax-paying company in Anambra State, which proves Peter Obi right.

Do not always rush to discredit a man who is very aware of himself and his figures and information and one who is extremely successful but acts as if he is not by being simple and down-to-earth.

What has Soludo achieved now with his rush to tell his taxman to make the figure public. Just like telling the world that most kidnappers in Anambra are Igbo. Who is he trying to impress in all these?

Ohafia LGA Mayor Intervenes in Medical Emergency of an abandoned unidentified Lady along Abiriba-Igbere Expressway.

The Executive Mayor of Ohafia LGA, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of residents of his LGA and beyond by swiftly responding to a distress call of an abandoned unidentified lady lying helplessly for days along the Abiriba-Igbere expressway.

The issue was brought to the attention of the Mayor by a concerned resident who immediately mobilized the Nigeria Police Force Abiriba Division to quickly search for the Lady and take her to Ebube Ena Medical Facility for medical evaluation and rehabilitation.

Through the existing collaboration between the Mayor and the Management of the Health Facility, the lady was admitted to Ebube Ena Hospital Abiriba, where she received medical attention for 2 weeks.

The lady’s initial evaluation showed that she was severely malnourished having not eaten for several days, indication of breast cancer and mental health issues as she could not clearly state her names nor where she comes from.
The resident doctor at the facility requested that she be transferred to a secondary health facility.

In a prompt and compassionate response, Chief Eleanya secured the support of the Ministry of Women Affairs to move her to Abia Specialist Hospital Umuahia, where she is now receiving comprehensive care.

The Ohafia Council Mayor extends deep appreciation to the wife of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Chioma Otti, for her timely support and intervention, which played a vital role in facilitating the patient’s continued treatment and recovery.

The Mayor also extends his appreciation to the staff and management of Ebube Ena Medical Facility Abiriba for shouldering the responsibility of taking care of the lady for over 2 weeks. They have continued to provide critical medical services to the Abiriba people especially during emergencies.

This act underscores the Mayors unwavering dedication to responsive governance and community care.

The public is hereby encouraged to have a good look at the lady for possible identification and connection to her family.

“Tinubu Deducts ₦100bn Monthly From Federation Account Without Approval” — El-Rufai Alleges, Says Action Deserves Impeachment

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has accused Bola Tinubu of unlawfully withdrawing ₦100 billion every month from the federation account without constitutional backing or legislative approval.

In a now-viral interview on Arise TV, El-Rufai said the unauthorised deductions have been going on for over 15 months, amounting to a total of ₦1.5 trillion.

“Every month, President Bola Tinubu deducts ₦100B from the Federation account. This is unconstitutional and an impeachable offence,” El-Rufai declared.
