BREAKING: Colossal Biosciences Drops Stunning New Video of Dire Wolf Pups at 5 Months!
The future of science is here! Colossal Biosciences just released an incredible update: a new video showcasing the three Dire Wolf pups—Romulus, Remus, and Khaleesi—now at 5 months old! These majestic creatures, brought back from extinction after 10,000+ years, are growing fast and stealing hearts worldwide!
In their first video as newborns last October, we saw them take their first step and let out their adorable howls. Now, in this latest footage, they’re stronger and bigger than ever! Romulus and Remus already weigh 80 lbs (36 kg) each and are expected to reach 150 lbs (68 kg) when fully grown. With their thick white fur and powerful builds, they’re showing off the iconic Dire Wolf traits engineered using CRISPR technology from gray wolf DNA.
These pups are living in a secure 2,000-acre sanctuary in the northern U.S., where they’re being closely monitored for their health and safety. This groundbreaking achievement isn’t just about bringing back the past—it’s paving the way for saving endangered species like the red wolf, which Colossal has also successfully cloned!
But the debate rages on: Are these truly Dire Wolves, or just genetically modified gray wolves? What do YOU think? Drop your thoughts in the comments!

In a stunning new achievement that feels closer to science fiction than reality, scientists have brought a species of wolves back to life after it went extinct more than 10,000 years ago!
The species of wolves is called the “Dire Wolf,” also known as the “Fearsome Wolf,” which lived in North America and went extinct over 10,000 years ago.
A biotechnology company named Colossal Biosciences extracted DNA from a tooth dating back 13,000 years and a skull that is 72,000 years old, both belonging to Dire Wolves, and then reconstructed their genetic profile. After thorough and detailed analysis, and identifying the main genetic differences between Dire Wolves and their closest living relatives today, the gray wolves, the scientists modified gray wolf cells to embody the characteristics of Dire Wolves and match their genetic makeup.
The company then used these modified cells to create embryos, which were implanted into the wombs of dogs as surrogate mothers. The final result was the birth of three healthy Dire Wolf pups last October, named Romulus, Remus, and Khaleesi.
And now, you can hear the sounds of this species in the video for the first time in over 10,000 years! A legendary achievement.
