We helped celebrate a very special girl, Demi, at Nanumi Au over the weekend. 💝

Demi first visited us with her family for Mother’s Day earlier this year. They returned again for her big sister’s birthday where her sister’s birthday wish was simple: games, cake and celebrating with the village kids. 🎂🌿

So when Demi’s mum asked what she wanted to do for her birthday, her answer was:

“I want to celebrate like my big sister did… at Nanumi Au.” 🥹

And so they came back again. 💫

For two nights, Nanumi Au was filled with more than 35 family and friends, children running around, birthday games, shared meals, lovo, meke, laughter and celebration. 🔥

Nanumi Au means “remember me”.. and more and more, that meaning feels like it belongs not only to the place, but to the people and moments held here too. ♥️

There is something about connecting with people and place in this way that stays with you. Something that keeps drawing us all back. 🌀

Maybe that’s what Nanumi Au is becoming …a place you remember, and a place that somehow remembers you too. 🌿

Not simply somewhere you stay, but somewhere you return to.. for the people, the connection and the feeling of being part of something. ✨

Vinaka vakalevu to the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation for believing in what we were building at Nanumi Au. 🌿

Nanumi Au is a village-led eco experience on Suncoast Fiji. A small, purpose-built place where travellers can stay with us comfortably while being meaningfully connected to Fijian people, culture and place.

This grant became much more than a structure. It gave us the space and confidence to grow our experiences, welcome more people, create opportunities within our community and keep developing a tourism model centred on people, culture and place.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support …and even more excited about what is still to come. 💚

Our 8-night Village to Island Experience begins at Nanumi Au, where you’ll be immersed in village life, shared meals, mangrove forests, stories and a slower rhythm.

Then we leave the mainland behind for four nights in a beachfront bungalow, where white sand meets turquoise water and the only real decision is whether to swim, snorkel, have a massage, read or simply do nothing at all.

We all know it takes a village. But imagine what we can achieve when our villages come together. 🫶🏽

Vinaka vakalevu to everyone from Nabalasere Village and Navolau No. 1 Village who have become part of this chapter with us. Bringing their craftsmanship in bamboo cladding for our walls and grass thatching for our roofs. 🌱
