It is so unfortunate to see the public’s reaction towards the death of Dr. Leighly Darling. Society’s way of judging and condemning him simply because of who he was is appalling. We, as a community, need to work together to change this.

Vinaka Vuniwai for your contribution to society, not only through medicine but also through the laughter you shared. I hope the Police Department gets to the bottom of this & find the culprit responsible.

POWER TO LIFE-A handbook for people newly diagnosed with HIV in Fiji.

This booklet was developed by the Rainbow Pride Foundation in collaboration with the Believers Support Group of PLHIV, FJN+ Fiji Network of People Living with HIV, UNAIDS Pacific and the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services HIV HUB Medical Officers. It is adapted from the National Association for People Living with HIV Australia (NAPWHA) with the support from ASHM. It was contextualised to the Fijian context with funding assistance from the New Zealand High Commission in Suva, Fiji.

The booklet was also translated to Itaukei and Hindi languages. They can be accesed in the links below:

I’m beyond excited to share that my short film “First Hit” has been officially selected for the Suva Short Film Festival on the 11th September.

I’m deeply thankful to Film Fiji for believing in this project and giving it a platform.

With First Hit, I wanted to explore how a single, seemingly harmless decision can snowball into chaos. Many young people today face subtle pressures and curiosities, and this film is my visual representation of that temptation and its possible consequences.

This is a very sensitive topic that I have decided to talk about on my podcast. mainly focusing on how we can prevent this from happening in the future. This episode is not to judge or condemn however to shed light on what we can work on.

This short film is my way of raising awareness about drug abuse. It's also my very first time acting, directing, producing, and editing — all in one project. I'm so glad I took this step and made it happen. I hope y'all like it when it comes out

Last night, I was in Valelevu and saw something that triggered a cascade of questions in my head. A few people were sleeping on the streets, curled up on hard concrete, with nothing but empty cartons for comfort.

Why are they on the streets? Who were they before they ended up on the streets? What dreams did they have? What are their talents & aspirations? What led them down this path?

I can’t help but wonder—what if we had proper homeless shelters in Fiji? Places where people are given not just a roof, but a second chance at life. What if there were accessible rehab centers to help those battling addiction before it strips them of everything?

Or are we going to wait until the streets are full before we finally act?

I hope and pray that there are organizations out there working on this 🤞🏽
