Big concern over grid security guards being unprofessional at valelevu hospital. The story below.
To the general public,
I write here to share my experience at valelevu hospital concerning the two security officers present at that time.
It was around 7.30pm (2/08/2025)Saturday evening when a car arrived to the hospital with an emergency case. Upon arrival they went straight into the emergency car area. After offloading the patient they were growled at by the grid security guards on why they entered with the car. In there case patient was unable to walk at that time and he needed to be dropped off as close as possible to the emergency area. They asked for a wheel chair but their request was denied by the guards thou wheel chairs were present and unused. They than somehow took the patient to the room and treatment started. After treatment ,again they requested the guards to remove the cones so that they could bring their car in and take the patient home. it was then when the big fuss started. First off all they were growled at again. They were sweared at by the female guard. Pushed by the male guard. They were told to get out and get lost.
It was a very sad experience what i saw and what they went through that evening. Being denied excess to emergency dropoff area and being sweard at and pushed when leaving the hospital. Such security guards are of no use to the general public. Being unprofessional ,having a very bad attitude towards the general public. Instead of helping they growl,push and swear at the public.
I ask were they wrong to enter a emergency area with a critical patient who needed medical treatment rightaway?? I ask do they need this kind of security guards who hinder and slow a emergency patients way to emergency treatment???
Good health services are our right as citizens of fiji. These two grid security guards must learn that emergencies are given priority first. All hands are on deck to save a critical patients life while these two were unprofessionally delaying them their right to emergency care and obstructing.
Disciplinary actions should be taken on these two guards by the grid security company and they should be taught how to communicate with people especially if people are on emergency cases.
Their photos are below.. These type of guards are unfitting for hospitals and other emergency places. Hospitals need helpful and kind guards who can provide a helping hand when emergencies arrive rather then being a obsticle on an emergency patience way.
I request Appropriate actions to be taken against these two guards so that they can improve on there services.
I Hope no other emergency cases has to go through the difficult situation as these particular family went through that night.
