First time riding a stallion.
A 6-year-old in France đŸ‡«đŸ‡·

Still one of those moments that doesn’t feel totally real.

Not even about the horse — just being there, riding, and getting the chance to do something like that.

Easy to forget sometimes, especially in the middle of everyday life, that the things you want are actually possible.

This is just a reminder to myself.

Set your sights on it.
Go after it.
Figure it out as you go.

I know it’s been quiet.

Honestly? Alberta spring.

Snow. Ice. Wind. Repeat.

Between working full-time, classes at night, and trying to work around the weather
 riding just hasn’t lined up yet.

We did get vaccines & coggins done.
Which is about as exciting as it’s been lately.

So for now, it’s just patience.

Season’s coming.

We are excited for it.

Everyone loves the highlight reel.

The jump.
The clean round.
The applause.

But most of this life is hay nets and pitchforks and standing in a field while the sun drops behind bare trees.

And honestly?
That’s the part I’d choose every time.

This is the work.

1. Flower crowns + horses. Truly thought I was doing something groundbreaking.😂

2. Standing in front of the jumps at like this was already the plan. Fun Fact: I was there this year
when the Spruce 6-bar record was broken!

3. Even my school projects were about horses
featuring three dogs and a cat on the bed for moral support.😆

4. Me and my mom, with Daisy who was deeply offended she wasn’t the one being cuddled.

I think living with horses teaches you to get dressed for reality, not a version of your life that only exists online.

Things that are comfortable, practical, and still feel like you.

I don’t feel like I came home with answers—I came home paying closer attention.

And honestly, I think that’s one of the best things horses teach you if you let them.

Back home, back to regular days, but still thinking about everything from this past week.

I always notice after trips like this how much learning sneaks into everyday life—not in big ways, just in how you move a little slower, pay attention a little more, and carry things differently.

It’s kind of nice when growth doesn’t feel dramatic. Just steady.

Heading home today with a very full notebook and a very full brain.

This week reminded me how much there is to learn in horses—and how much of it comes from listening, paying attention, and being willing to slow down.

I’m excited to take pieces of that back with me into everyday life, not to change everything all at once, but to be a little more thoughtful about how I show up.

Grateful for the people I met, the conversations I got to be part of, and the reminder that growth doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s just quiet and steady.

I wrapped up my last sessions this morning at the United States Pony Club Convention, and they were honestly so good.

Studying bones, muscles, and ligaments makes you realize how much is happening underneath everything we see on the outside. It also makes you slow down a bit and think more carefully about how horses move, feel, and carry us.

I’m not here to have all the answers—I’m here to learn how to ask better questions.

And honestly, I kind of loved geeking out over it.

It was a really great day today, with lots of learning and getting to sit in on sessions covering so many different topics—the big one being sport, strategy, and stewardship in the modern equestrian world.

I got to attend Plaidcast In Person, hosted by Piper Klemm from The Plaid Horse, with Christian Baier and Michael Lenard.

Getting to sit in that room and then meet people who are actively working to improve the horse world was pretty inspiring.
