In a speech delivered at the Haut Conseil des Finances Publiques conference, Governor François Villeroy de Galhau estimated that each 1% increase in interest rates eventually represents an additional annual cost of nearly 40 billion euros. Crypto-assets: joint warning from regulators. A few days after the MiCA regulation was voted on in the European Parliament, the European supervisory authorities (EBA, ESMA and EIOPA) are reminding savers that many crypto-assets are "highly risky and speculative" and that they can lose their savings in them. According to a recent survey commissioned by ADAN, 8% of French people have already invested in digital assets.

The French subsidiary of National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) has received approval from the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) and the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) to operate as a credit institution in France. The entity will be fully operational in the first half of the year.

National Australia Bank opens an office in Paris. Australia's second-largest bank has created a new subsidiary in France, National Australia Bank Europe S.A., "in response to growing demand from its customers operating in Europe." The European investment fund market remains national. In an audit report published this week, the European Court of Auditors considers that market convergence is subject to the goodwill of national authorities and that regulations remain very different between Member States. It makes a series of recommendations to be implemented by 2024 and 2025.

Dans un rapport d’audit publié cette semaine, la Cour des comptes européenne estime que la convergence du marché est soumise au bon vouloir des autorités nationales et que les réglementations restent très différentes entre Etats membres.
