BORN ON THIS DAY — JULY 15, 1946
Linda Ronstadt was born in Tucson, Arizona — one of the most beautiful and versatile voices in American music.
From rock and country-rock to oldies, traditional pop, folk and Mexican music, Linda never belonged to just one box. She carried the spirit of American roots music with elegance, emotion and power.
With songs like “Different Drum,” “You’re No Good,” “Blue Bayou” and her unforgettable interpretations of classic American sounds, she became a bridge between generations.
Not rockabilly in the strictest sense, but absolutely part of the wider world of rock’n’roll, country, oldies and timeless American music.
Happy Birthday, Linda Ronstadt.
