A look back at 2025 at Lwiro Primates

In 2025, our sanctuary continued caring for 278 rescued animals while operating on the frontlines of conflict in eastern DR Congo. Despite uncertainty and challenges, our dedicated team remained committed to protecting wildlife every day.

For more than 20 years, Brigitte Bardot has stood by Lwiro Primates — and so many other animal causes, helping us feed and care for chimpanzees rescued from poaching, trafficking, and conflict.

She is our oldest and most faithful donor, and her long-term commitment has made a real, lasting difference in the lives of the chimpanzees we protect every day. Thanks to her generosity, thousands of meals have been provided, and countless lives have been given a second chance.

We need more people like her — people who believe in long-term commitment, compassion, and real impact for animals.

We are deeply grateful for this unwavering support and for believing in our mission for over two decades. 🐵🌿
