500 millions !
Non, ce n’est pas le montant du premier prix du prochain jeu-concours que Globe Rider Magazine organisera prochainement (info à vérifier tout de même !), mais bien le nombre de 2 roues motorisés produits par Honda depuis 1949. 10 ans plus t**d, le constructeur japonais se hisse au premier rang mondial et, en 1963, la première usine ouvre à l’étranger. Ce sera en Belgique. Suivra la Thaïlande en 1967. Trois unités de production qui permettent d’atteindre 10 millions d’unités produites au total l’année suivante. En 2013, avec l’ouverture d’une nouvelle usine au Kenya, Honda est alors implanté dans 14 pays. Les 300 millions d’unités produites sont atteintes en 2014. À noter qu’à lui seul le Super Cub a conquis 87 millions d’utilisateurs au travers de 160 pays. Un record inégalé ! En 2019, la barre des 400 millions est cette fois franchie avant celle, aussi symbolique qu’impressionnante des 500 millions en 2025. Qui dit mieux ?

No, that's not the amount of the first prize in the next competition to be organized by Globe Rider Magazine (please check!), but the number of motorized 2-wheelers produced by Honda since 1949. 10 years later, the Japanese manufacturer became the world leader and, in 1963, the first factory opened abroad. It was to be in Belgium. Thailand followed in 1967. Three production units that enabled a total of 10 million units to be produced the following year. In 2013, with the opening of a new plant in Kenya, Honda is now present in 14 countries. By 2014, Honda had produced 300 million units. The Super Cub alone has won over 87 million users in 160 countries. An unrivalled record! In 2019, the 400 million mark is passed before the symbolic and impressive 500 million mark in 2025. Who can beat that?
