In the mid-90’s, Undone (a band I was playing the drums for) was invited to play a festival in Padova in Italy. This was organized by the nice people of Green Records and there was a bunch of amazing Italian bands playing. I believe it was 1995 or 1996, but I’m not 100% sure.

I was already in contact with quite a number of bands and labels from Italy, but this festival also had a big impact on me, as it was empowering to see Italian bands, all of them singing in their mother language, bringing together such a big enthusiastic and varied crowd, with so many people screaming the lyrics in front of the bands, and everybody coming from different punk sub-scenes and mixing together well. This was something I had quite never witnessed in France (local crowd supporting local bands and not being stuck in sub-genres).

This old memory brings me to realize how I have always loved dark Italian punk-hardcore bands, from Contropotere to Concrete, and including tons more. I have also been totally crazy with Marnero from Bologna for more than a decade, and when they split up, I was a bit sad.

But from their ashes started a new project, called La Fossa Delle Marianne, and I am happy that I have been able to get involved with the release of their first recording, a LP that is ready to ship as of today (and that was also co-produced with the band themselves and the old partners in crime of Shove Records).

Hey, I’m trying to keep updating Stonehenge’s Bandcamp page, and this time I'm adding a record that was initially released back more than 30 years ago.

This record is Finger Print’s second EP, and it is also the label’s second release. Actually, it’s even the first “real” release that I handled all by myself.

Finger Print was one of the bands I played in back then. We spent a long weekend in a weird “professional” studio, with an engineer who, to be honest, had never heard fast and distorted music. We recorded and mixed about fifteen tracks during this session, a bunch of which were supposed to end up on compilations. We kept these four songs, which I suppose were our favorites, for this EP.

Most of the versions I’ve seen on YouTube were cut short, so I’ve been meaning to put this record on Bandcamp for a while now to fix that!

The Finger Print discography should be coming out in the not-too-distant future. I know I’ve been saying that for years, but actually, I really want this record to be the last one released on Stonehenge. But the label is still alive, and well, as I honestly don't know when it will finally die, I figure maybe it’s not such a bad idea to get this discography done quickly.

Enjoy listening/reading. You can download the tracks for free in high quality. I don’t know which platform is more “ethical” between Bandcamp and YouTube, but maybe downloading helps avoid adding to the environmental footprint associated with streaming. Anyway, do as you think seems more relevant/coherent.

Stonehenge, more than 30 years after this actual release, is still a non-profit, non-professional distribution list for punk and hardcore records and zines. Feel free to check it out if you’re interested.

Hey, je tente de continuer à mettre à jour la page Bandcamp de Stonehenge avec un retour en arrière de plus de 30 piges.

Ce disque, le second de Finger Print, constitue également la seconde sortie du label. En vrai, c'est même la première "vraie" sortie sur laquelle j'ai géré les choses par moi-même.

Finger Print était un des groupes dans lesquels je jouais. On avait passé un long week-end dans un studio vaguement "pro", avec un ingé qui à vrai dire n'avait jamais entendu de la musique un peu rapide et distordu. On avait enregistré et mixé un quinzaine de titres durant cette session, dont un paquet étaient censé finir sur des compilations. On avait gardé ces quatre là, qui je pense devaient être nos préférés, pour cet EP.

La plupart des versions que j'ai pu voir sur YouTube étaient tronquées, donc, ça faisait un moment que j'avais en tête de mettre ce disque sur le Bandcamp pour palier à ça !

La discographie de Finger Print devrait arrivée dans un futur pas très lointain. Ça fait des années que je dis ça je sais, mais en fait, je tenais absolument à ce que ce disque soit le dernier à sortir sur Stonehenge. Mais ça fait aussi des années que je repousse la fin du label, et bon, en l'état actuel des choses, je me dis que peut-être c'est pas plus mal de s'y atteler rapidos.

Bonne écoute / lecture. Vous pouvez télécharger les morceaux gratos en bonne qualité. Je sais pas ce qui est le plus "éthique" entre Bandcamp et YouTube, mais peut-être que le téléchargement évite quand même d’aggraver l'empreinte écologique liée au streaming. Bref, vous faites comme vous voulez hein.

Stonehenge, plus de 30 ans après la sortie de ce disque, continue d'être également une liste de distribution non-profit et non-professionnelle de disques et de zines punks et hardcore. Hésitez pas à allez y jeter un œil si ça vous dit.

Hello friends,

I am very happy to announce the release of the Nightwatchers newest 7"EP, named "Qu'Importe La Mort", with 4 new songs dealing with the craziness of wars and of a world where selling weapons and making big money is more important than life itself, etc.

Since decades, punk bands have been singing about the kind of destructions inflicted everwhere by capitalism and have been trying to bring up some alternative perspectives on how to try and refuse this heritage in our own very lives and how to try to change how we deal with conformism and resignation.

Sure, it's sad that we still have to carry this torch and keep questioning this world, but at least, we are not giving up and we still don't want to see our lives totally crushed by such ideologies.

I hope these songs will make a humble contribution in making us a bit stronger and more confident in our refusal to live in such a world and close our eyes on the destructions and injustices of capitalism.

Stonehenge Mailorder is a non-professional, non-profit, internationalist DIY Punk mailorder driven by the idea that what make punk's political message fun, effective, coherent and full of perspectives are its persistent, humble and unpretentious tries to put slogans into actions.

By trying to offer a simple, shareable and understandable alternative to business structures that we collectively seems to comdemn in our lyrics and slogans (profits, competition, rock'n'roll stars, etc.), DIY punks has opened the doors for a culture less focused on consumption, acceptations of the dominant society's codes, and reproduction of our privileges. It made our punk world a little bit bigger, full of new languages, new understandings on resistence, and new potentials.

Let's make it clear that DIY Punk is if course not the only path and perspective on punk. It is just a suggestion on how we can try to understand how money, business, over-consumption are having an impact on the world and keeping alive capitalism.
