Local news will never be the same… 😔 Fun fact about me I’m a trained journalist. I went to journalism school, I worked in newsrooms in college, my first job was at a newstalk station. And though I don’t consider myself a journalist today, that training allows me to bring you the news for this new media landscape every single day. I never for a second undervalued the importance of local journalism. And now… it’s going away. Sigh… what could have been if we got out of our own way. Just to be clear, I understand that people had reasons to not show up and vote. But every day when Trump does something we all warned he would do, it’s hard not to think back at how easy it would have been to just pick the “lesser of the two evils.” I think we can all agree, one of them just wouldn’t be doing this right now. 😔 Feel free to disagree with me in the comment section.

What a fun morning... In all seriousness, I found it so ironic that l ended up in the emergency room for the first time in like two decades the same week Republicans are trying to take away healthcare from millions of Americans. I felt very fortunate to get great/swift care, but even with my stellar insurance, I was still slapped with a $200 bill. The whole rest of the day - in between my Benadryl induced naps - I just couldn't help but think how our already pretty rough healthcare system could get a whole lot worse...
