Yes, French isn't a quick language to pick up and understand, let alone speak. When I teach French, I always warn my students as to how we pronounce and link certain words; there are rules. But some basics are: We rarely say: "Je suis" but "Chwee" i.e, "Chwee fatigué" = I am tired; we don't say "Je ne sais pas" (for I don't know) but "Chey pa" and there are a lot more like this. Listen to French people on TV5 Langue Française, where there are videos, and you can put the subtitles in French to check how they pronounce words. You can choose videos at a low level (A1), then move on to A2, B1 and B2. Higher levels are for University level. Most French people speak at the B2 level. I would gladly share these in a conversation class of 3 people for 10 euros each. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

I love this description. In French, someone said:"Un livre est un bagage plein de rêves."

On France 2 today they showed "un vide-grenier" at "La Heunière" dans l'Eure, in Normandy. Summer time is the season for "Vide-greniers", also called "Foires à Tout". Words you may need to know are "chiner" or "marchander" = to bargain. These events allow to create relations (créer des liens) and are very popular.

"I'm French and a language teacher, and I wanted to let you know that I'm nearly finished writing a bilingual book of essential dialogues for everyday life in France. It covers situations such as visiting the doctor, going to the bank, shopping, dealing with tradespeople, registering children into a school and much more. Let me know if you'd like me to keep you posted when it's published!"

What is the worst enemy for teenagers?
Bullying and cyberbullying
Lack of self-esteem
Something else?

Today on the French news, they were visiting a small town in the South East called "Châteauneuf-Grasse and walking through the old streets, you can discover around 40 poems dotting around including this one. I can't wait to go there and visit the area.

Sensation
Arthur Rimbaud
Mars 1870

Repeat that daily:
Here are some positive mental health affirmations to get you started:
I am a strong, capable person.
I have done difficult things in the past, and I can do them again.
I have experienced challenges in the past, and I am more resilient because of this.

I LOVE THIS BELOW: And I also want to say to men that you don't have to solve every problem, just listening is often enough.

Small Acts, Big Impact: The Power of Kindness and Listening
"Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love." - Lao Tzu

Every day, we walk through life often overlooking the little things, the small actions that truly shape our experiences and those of others. I want to share with you how simple acts of kindness, like a warm smile to a stranger or a thoughtful word to a colleague, can ripple through lives in ways we can't even fathom. I remember once, a small act of kindness from a stranger turned my entire day around, reminding me of the profound impact we have on each other's lives.

I've realized the immense power that lies in just being a good listener. It's not always about giving advice or solutions. Sometimes, it's about lending an ear, showing empathy, and understanding. These acts of emotional generosity can profoundly affect others, offering comfort and connection in their times of need. I've seen firsthand how simply listening can mend hearts and build bridges.

Your simplest acts of kindness and listening can weave a tapestry of profound connections and healing in the world around you.
I once believed that to be strong, I had to be invulnerable. But through my journey, especially in blogging and sharing personal stories, I learned that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a gateway to genuine connection. It wasn't easy to open up about my struggles and fears, but doing so brought me closer to my readers and led to unexpected healing - both for me and for those who shared their stories in return.

Like many, I've battled self-doubt. I used to think that what I offered to the world was too insignificant to matter. But this journey from doubt to realization taught me something crucial: every action, no matter how small, has value. Whether it's a kind word, a helpful deed, or just being there for someone, it all contributes to the tapestry of our shared human experience.

It's easy to feel like we're not doing enough, that our contributions are too small to be significant. But I've come to understand that it's not about the grandeur of our actions, but their sincerity and heart. Every little thing we do for others, every moment of understanding and support, adds up to a life well-lived and meaningful.

My journey is far from over. Every day presents new opportunities to learn, to grow, and to impact others positively. The road isn't always easy, and there are moments of doubt and fear, but these are overshadowed by moments of clarity and connection.

I want to leave you with a challenge: recognize the value in the small things you do. Understand that your actions, no matter how minor they seem, can have a profound impact on others. Embrace the power of kindness, empathy, and vulnerability. Let's all strive to make our world a little brighter, one small act at a time.
