If you’re looking for the perfect place to dive into the festive season, Périgueux has switched on the lights!🎄 The historic city centre is a fantastic spot for Christmas shopping, and this year you can pair it with a stroll through the Christmas Market, open from 5 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 🎁

Wander through the beautifully decorated streets, then follow the scent of gingerbread and mulled wine to the Village de Noël on Place Bugeaud and Square Daumesnil 🎅 With 31 wooden chalets, a skating rink, festive decorations and events for all ages, it’s the heart of Périgueux’s winter celebrations 🥳

Not only do we celebrate La Fete Du Travail on May 1st (Labor Day) but it’s also the Fete du Muguet… On this day, it is customary to offer a sprig of lily of the valley, also known as “un brin de muguet,” to loved ones as a symbol of good luck, happiness, and the arrival of spring. With their sweet fragrance, the delicate white flowers are believed to bring joy and prosperity to those who receive them. Who will you bring a sprig for today?
