Georges Foy, l’auteur du roman Enquête sur Kamanzi que nous avons eu le plaisir d’éditer en 2016 vient de faire paraître aux États-Unis son nouveau livre Winterpoor. Ci-dessous la présentation, en anglais, de Georges par le libraire qui l’a accueilli vendredi dernier.
George Michelsen Foy is a writer, essayist and Cape Cod native. He has published 15 novels—his latest, The Winterpoor, a novel about the Cape, comes out September 5 with Sea Crow Press. Other novels have been published by University Press of New England: also Viking Penguin, Bantam Doubleday, Éditions Globophile (Paris), Bastei Lubbe (Berlin). A previous novel, The Last Green Light, a novel about the forgotten people of The Great Gatsby, came out in 2024 with Guernica Editions, Toronto. Three works of non-fiction (the latest, Run the Storm, about the sinking of the SS El Faro) were published by Scribner and Macmillan / Flatiron. Shorter non-fiction has been published in Harper’s, Rolling Stone, Men's Journal, Slate, the New York Times, etc.; short stories in Notre Dame Review, Ep;phany Journal, Apeiron, MonkeyBicycle, Washington Square Review, etc. He was educated at the Sorbonne, London School of Economics, and Bennington College's MFA program, teaches creative writing at New York University, is a recipient of an NEA fellowship in fiction and other awards, and once worked as chief restroom cleaner for a chain of garages in North London.
