: WHAT VALIDATES OUR ACTIONS FOR GOD.

Did you know that anything not done for God, with God, in God, or by God (through us) is absolutely no value in the scale of eternity? The Apostle Paul said, “...the fire will test each one's work of what quality” (1 Corinthians 3:13). The accomplishments and achievements perceived by man as performances are not always seen as such by God.

Some people, like Saint Augustine, a brilliant Christian thinker and philosopher, considered like one of the fathers of the Church and one of the greatest thinkers of his time, with a monumental body of work and prolific writings, heard the Lord tell him in a vision that everything he had accomplished had no value in the scale of eternity. Perhaps it was because Saint Augustine was determined to defend the Church more with human weapons and philosophical arguments than with tools inspired by the Spirit.

Do you know that your heart is not, by itself, capable of loving God or pleasing Him? Your heart cannot, by itself, be attracted to divine realities. Indeed, it is written on this subject: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44a).

Sometimes we enter into prayer and feel how, without even wanting to, our whole being wants to interrupt this moment to go and be with others, watch TV, or make a sandwich. It is therefore with good reason that Scripture says this: "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13).

But when we persist and persist in prayer, suddenly something happens: we feel the presence of the Father, we begin to cry, confessing our sins, we no longer want to leave his presence, we no longer want it to end. What happened then? It happened that the anointing of the Spirit brought you into the presence of the Lord. This anointing of the Spirit enabled you to be convicted of sin and to repent.

The anointing has given you a love for God and His company in this moment of prayer, and it has allowed your heart to perceive and be aware of what God wanted you to do. Only works inspired by the Holy Spirit and carried out by the power of His anointing have value in God's eyes.

God bless you!

: LEARN TO LET GO!

Being the eldest of 5 children, I was very early responsible for looking after and taking care of others. This has developed in me a tendency to always want to control everything, that is to say, to like having a point of view and the monopoly on all situations from far or near, a directional character and very enterprising.

This ability to fight and lead is not a bad thing in itself. Yet, the Holy Spirit reproached me one day in my walk with him.

The Lord led me to consider the story of Martha and Mary, sisters of Lazarus; drawing my attention to Martha in particular. The Lord answered him: "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried for many things" (Luke 10:41).

Indeed, Martha was in the oven and at the mill working to make everything perfect because the Lord of glory was within their walls (V40). Rest assured, she was not doing anything wrong. Or rather, what she was doing was in no way a sin.

However, the Lord drew my attention to the fact that sometimes we are so deep in what we believe is right and just without even taking into account his advice. Our enterprising side then takes over while the Lord only wants us to pose because he has the situation under control.

Jesus says to Martha: "Mary has chosen the right part (...)." What does the right part represent? It is a symbol of rest, of letting go. From time to time we must sit at the feet of the Lord, for he is in charge of everything. He is the Lord of the universe; nothing escapes him.

Did not he reassure us by saying: "(...) It is in the quiet and rest that your salvation will be, it is in the calm and confidence that your strength will be (...)? (Isaiah 30:15)

So, let’s learn to let go.

God bless you!

: TAKE CARE OF YOUR TESTIMONY!

I've always wondered why Christians don't have a significant impact on society. And I believe the Holy Spirit has begin to enlighten my mind with clues about it.

The Bible tells us in Romans 8v19: "Therefore the creation waits with earnest desire for the revealing of the sons of God". But who are these sons of God? They are all those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts, those who confess and manifest him daily.

Unfortunately, it is sad to see that many of us have not yet understood that what is at stake in our faith is greater than simply saying "I am a Christian". Often we don't seem to realize what our status entails. We are carefree like school children playing in a playground.

It is not uncommon to observe that Christians are the ones who arrive late for work, school and even church. They are the ones found involved in gossip and gossip, unable to handle pressures and oppressions wisely etc.

And yet, the apostle Paul made this address to Timothy and by extension to all of us: "But strive to be an example" (1Timothy 4v12b).

Thus, we must take care of our testimony in the eyes of all so that no one treats us with contempt because people will weigh us down with the weight that we will have given ourselves.

God bless you !

: FALSE HUMILITY AND PRESUMPTION

These are two subtle forms of pride. False humility concerns appearances. It may be a matter of displaying an appearance of pity or godliness without really being so deep inside just to get God's attention. Sometimes we awkwardly believe that it's through all miserable attitudes that we can get God's attention to. Unfortunately, we are wrong because it is written: "They have, indeed, an appearance of wisdom, in that they indicate voluntary worship, humility, and contempt for the body, but they are without any merit. and contribute to the satisfaction of the flesh "(Colossians 2:23).

False humility is also the attitude of celebrating our flaws and limitations in an exaggerated way. It may seem modest and humble to see a person who readily admits his faults, who exposes his limits etc. The problem is that this attitude causes us to focus a little too much on ourselves instead of focusing on God who makes us capable of everything (Philippians 4v13).

This was Moses’s mistake. Even though he was on the holy mountain, in the presence of God, speaking to the Lord under the appearance of a burning bush, despite all this, at no point in this conversation did Moses trust God. He spent time mentionning his disabilities and fears as if God was not aware of them (Exodus 4v1-13) thus provoking the wrath of the Lord (Exodus 4v14).

Besides, presumption is also one of the subtle forms of pride. It consists in thinking that we can do anything without God's help for a given situation. We assume then that we can handle this on our own without requiring divine intervention.

Pastor Mamadou Philippe Karambiri recounts, moreover, on this subject, an anecdote in the testimony of his conversion. As he was taking his end-of-year university exam for the bachelor's degree, seeing the tests that seemed so easy to him, he exclaimed: "oh these tests are so easy and I will pass this exam even if God does not want ”.

In the end, he failed brilliantly, because during the exam he had a blackout. He no longer remembered all the courses he had learned and studied. I would note be able to say whether this blackout was the work of God or not. But either way, it was a presumption here, and it cost him dearly.

We need to be humble no matter what. No matter what we have, it's a grace from God. We should never feel better than others or more worthy than them. Rather, we must thank God who gives us grace out of love for us. Also, never make the mistake of believing that we have succeeded by our own abilities, talents or aptitudes. We must constantly seek the face of God and depend on Him no matter what.

God bless you !

: IF THE PROMISE DELAYS... WAIT FOR IT!

Throughout our walk with God, we have received promises. Some have been fulfilled unlike others, and this despite our prayers. God has remained silent.

This silence of God, however difficult and frustrating it may be, should not allow us to choose other ways that we just want God to validate.

Indeed, it may happen that the promise of God is not fulfilled immediately for the simple reason that we are neither ready nor willing to receive it.

However, the silence of God must therefore invite us to first, examine our lives, second to accept the authority of God and third to listen and receive his instructions in order to do his will, no matter what he will recommend.

So, if the promise of God is slow to be fulfilled, let us wait for it because it will be fulfilled, it will certainly be fulfilled.

" For it is a prophecy whose time is already fixed, It walks towards its end, and it will not lie; If it is delayed, wait for it, For it will be fulfilled, it will surely be fulfilled" (Habacuc 2:3).

God bless you!

: WHAT ARE YOU FILLED WITH?

In the Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians chapter 5 verse 18, the Bible says this: “Do not get drunk on wine: it is debauchery. On the contrary, be filled with the Spirit ”.

Here Paul strongly urges us to desire the Holy Spirit and be filled with his gentle presence. In other words, it is what we love and love that fills our daily life and therefore our life. Whether it is work, fashion, lust, lust, the pursuit of money or material goods, etc.

Indeed, the present world aims to saturate our thoughts with all that can lead us away from our Lord. It is therefore more than important to empty ourselves of all these things so that the Holy Spirit takes not the first place but all the place. Because, the current world system aims by all means to stifle our faith and our love for the Lord and wants to plunge us into a state of spiritual lethargy.

Love the things of the Spirit and let them fill our lives.

"Set your affection on things above, and not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3v2).

God bless you !

: PRAY AND DO NOT REPEAT EMPTY WORDS (PART 2)

In Matthew 6v7 it is written: "When you pray, do not multiply empty words like the pagans who imagine that they will be answered with words. In the first article of this series we have pointed out the obvious contradiction between the usual interpretation that most of us made of this verse and the life of prayer of Jesus.

In reality, this text of Matthew 6v7 does not forbid us to make long prayers or to spend long moments. This text does not recommend that we specialize only in short and brief prayers. Nor is it a question of proscribing the repetition of the same words in prayer or prohibiting the practice of praying several times for the same subject.

In fact, for each of his points, Jesus had a different opinion since he allowed himself to spend long moments in prayer including hours and whole nights (Luke 6v12); he even trained his disciples to do the same (Matthew 26v40-42) and the Lord himself often repeated the same words in his prayer times (Matthew 26v44).

So what did he mean in Matthew 6v7? Note that the verse does not say: “When praying, do not multiply words” it says instead: “When praying, do not multiply empty words”.

For a vain word is one which is useless, unfruitful from the point of view of God. Here are four things that could characterize this kind of speech. First, a vain word does not fit with the Holy Scriptures, for remember that we must address God by reviving his memory, that is, by reminding him of what he has said and promised (Isaiah 43v26)

Second, a vain word is one that is not inspired by the Holy Spirit. Let us not forget that it is written: "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know what to ask in our prayers" (Romans 8v26a).

Thirdly, a vain word lacks faith. If we say in our prayers phrases that are not marked by faith, they are useless words because: «But without faith it is impossible to be pleasing to him» (Hebrews 11v6a).

Fourthly, a vain word expresses more our vanity, our pride, our desire to be seen, listened and appreciated by men (Matthew 6v5) than the simplicity and sincerity of a heart that knows how to humble itself before its creator: «... God, I give thanks that I am not like the rest of men, who are raptors, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector; I fast twice a week, I give the tithe of all my income." (Luke 18:11-12)

Thus, if our words are based on the scriptures, on divine promises; if they are full of faith and inspired by the Holy Spirit I doubt very much that they displease God even if they are repeated an entire night: Words full of charm bubbling in my heart. My work is for the king, I say: Let my tongue be like the pen of a skilled writer!" (Psalm 45v2).

God bless you!

: DO NOT PRAY WITH EMPTY WORDS (PART 1)

In Matthew 6v7 Jesus said: "When you pray, do not multiply empty words like the heathen who imagine that they will be answered by words." After several years, I am still wondering: "what did the Lord mean by this statement?"

Was this a way for him to forbid long prayers? Did he mean that our prayers should necessarily be short? Did he recommend that we not repeat the same word several times in prayer?

If we answer these three questions in the affirmative, then we should be able to explain why Jesus himself prayed long prayers of an entire night: "At that time Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night praying to God" (Luke 6v12).

If Jesus in Matthew 6v7 wanted to promote short and brief prayers then why in Gethsemane he insists that his disciples should be able not only to pray for an hour of the clock but also to interject several prayer sequences of one hour each?

Indeed, it is written: "And he came to the disciples, whom he found asleep, and said to Peter: You have not been able to awake an hour with me! Watch and pray, that you may not fall into temptation; the spirit is well disposed, but the flesh is weak. He departed a second time (...)" (Matthew 26v40-42).

Was Jesus trying to say that we should not repeat the same words several times in a prayer related to the same request? If the answer is yes? Then why did he repeat the same words in his prayer to Gethsemane: "And when he left, he prayed for a third time, repeating the same words" (Matthew 26v44).

Actually, the answer is simple. It will be the subject of another article entitled: "PRAY NOT TO MULTIPLY EMPTY WORDS (2nd PART).

God bless you

: DO NOT FOCUS ON THE ENNEMY!

“Concentration” consists in mobilizing all of one's internal and other resources to direct them towards a single objective. To focus is to regard any other goal that is not in our sights as a distraction. Concentration not only comes down to focusing on a specific focus, but it is also and above all to ignore other focuses that are considered distracting.

Very often we make the mistake of focusing more on the enemy, on these works or on our failures and pains. However, in doing so we forget that "if the enemy is the only thing we see, it means that we have lost sight in God." Indeed, if the enemy is our main objective, our subconscious will treat any other objective as distracting, God included.

I have spent hours in prayer and come out dry and frustrated. Because during the prayer I focused on a weight that was in my heart or on that person who had hurt me. I turned the situation around, thinking that in this way God would help me understand and overcome it. But in doing it this way, the only thing I could do was bring back painful memories and amplify them.

For others, although they have become Christians, spend more time fighting the enemy than knowing God. Now, they should henceforth apply themselves to knowing and to consolidating their position in Christ, to know their authority, their rights, their privileges but also their duties in him. In fact, we have the choice of either obsessively fighting the enemy or rooting in Christ to enjoy there the best He offers us (including victory over the enemy) that will not be followed by sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).

Exhortation: DEEPEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Relationships are extremely important to human beings. Indeed, throughout our lives, we are led to have relationships. First, our birth is the fruit of a relationship, then we grow up within a family and finally we live in society except in rare cases.

Man, to flourish, must manage his relationships well according to their nature and their level of importance. However, the most important relationship that a human being can have is the one that binds him to his creator.

This is not about asserting your position within any church, group, or any religious organization. You must work to strengthen your relationship with God.

2 Peter 1:10 says: “Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to establish the calling and choice you have been given, for if you do this, you will never stumble. ”.

The relationship with God must be alive and dynamic. You must continually develop the awareness that your creator is there, even if you do not see him with your physical eyes. You must talk to him constantly, learn to listen to him in your heart and recognize his signals and calls around you. There is nothing that can strengthen you as much as the feeling of being listened to by God.

Do not experience God as a myth or an old legend. Live it every day! Talk to him about the details of your life, involve him in even the most insignificant choices you have to make, ask for his help, advice and guidance. Be patient! he will answer you, either by reading or meditating on the Bible or even a completely other book, or by listening to a preacher or any person, or by a trivial event, an unexpected circumstance or an inner perception.

God bless you !

: FAITH IS A CHOICE, SO IS FEAR

We read in Matthew 14v28-31 this: “Peter answered him, Lord, if it be you, command me to come to you on the waters. And he said: Come! Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to go to Jesus. But, seeing that the wind was strong, he was afraid; and, as he began to sink, he cried out: Lord, save me! Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, seized him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt? ".

In this episode, at the sight of Jesus who defies gravity by walking on water, Peter says to him: "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water". Jesus orders him to come and Peter walks on the water. But, later, at the sight of the wind which was strong, Pierre, out of fear, will sink.

Notice that to walk on water, Peter saw Jesus, heard and recognized his voice, and made the choice to obey his Lord. Also, to sink, Pierre saw the wind which was strong, undoubtedly heard it and noticed the waves which were agitated. Each time, Peter had the choice either to obey the voice of the Lord or to yield to the call of fear.

Having faith does not mean that there will never be circumstances or events that call for doubt. There will always be. But, it is our responsibility to choose to cling to our faith, and it is possible because it is within our reach. No one has ever been forced into doubt or disbelief, we are the ones who choose to give in.

Thus, our victory depends on our ability to stand on the Word of Christ and not respond to the vagaries of doubt, fear, or unbelief.

May God richly bless you!
