🎬 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 🚗

Recently, a former colleague from reached out, prompting me to revisit some archival footage from the Safe Drive Stay Alive (SDSA) campaign. As I sifted through the memories, I was reminded of the incredible journey we embarked on together.

From 2005 to 2021, our team had the privilege of providing the audiovisual support for SDSA, a powerful initiative aimed at educating young drivers about road safety. Each year, we collaborated with an exceptional group of professionals - from emergency services to local authorities - whose dedication and passion were truly inspiring.

The campaign wasn't just about presentations; it was about real stories, real emotions, and real impact. Over the years, SDSA reached thousands of students across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

While specific statistics for our region are limited, similar initiatives have shown significant results. For instance, in Fife, the Safe Drive Stay Alive program contributed to a 43% decrease in road casualties and a 65% reduction in fatalities between 2002 and 2012 . It's reasonable to believe that our collective efforts in the northeast had a comparable positive effect.

To all the partners, volunteers, and supporters who made SDSA possible - thank you. Your commitment helped shape safer roads and informed generations of drivers.

At Pigeon Media Solutions, our connection to the Arts Centre spans over 20 years. We've filmed countless productions, concerts, and showcases within its walls, and witnessed first-hand the powerful impact it’s had on young people, artists, and the wider community 🌟

Awkward, Funny, Weirdly Relatable. And a squirrel metaphor you won't forget. 🐿️💬

We had an absolute blast creating The Jason Situation - the second of two short scenes produced for one of our amazing acting clients' showreels. This light-hearted park bench comedy gave us the perfect excuse to play with timing, tone, and punchy dialogue, while showcasing the emotional range of two brilliant local performers.

Working with talented actors right here in our community is what Pigeon Media Solutions is all about - developing sharp, memorable content that helps them shine on screen and stand out in showreel submissions.

Sneak peek time!
We’re so close to sharing the finished scene from Estranged Encounter, but couldn’t resist giving you a wee glimpse at what’s coming. These stills are just a taste of the tension, emotion, and drama we captured on the day. 🎥🎭

A special shoutout to the real MVPs of the shoot:

🚗The man with the petrol-powered toy car (45 minutes of pure chaos),

🐶The guy who lost control of his dog (for about an hour),

🛸And the rogue drone operator.

All of this on a half-day shoot budget - It was a real lesson on sound design challenges. Who knew a toy car, a dog and a drone would have so much to say? 🤣

🎭 World Theatre Day 🎭

Theatre is more than just entertainment -it’s a space where stories come to life, where communities come together, and where creativity thrives.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, stages across the world fell silent, and the arts industry faced an uncertain future. We captured this footage of the empty Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen on behalf of WeMakeEvents, a haunting reminder of what was lost when live events were put on hold.

Today, as we celebrate World Theatre Day, let’s not forget how vital these spaces are. Local theatres need our support - whether by attending performances, sharing their work, or simply spreading the word.
