FACE MASKS – WHY DOES THE WESTERN WORLD NOT USE THEM?
ANSWER – BECAUSE THE WHO SAYS SO!!!!!
On the BBC news this morning it was categorically stated that the UK, and other western nations, are following WHO advice on wearing masks – “There is no need to wear them. They do not stop you catching the virus”
France are now going to fine people who sneeze without covering their face. Now, we all know how quickly a sneeze can happen and, particularly if you have both hands occupied, more often than not, we fail to cover out nose and mouth and when we do it is with our hand rather than a handkerchief or tissue.
So, let us get back to masks. If you do not wear a mask and sneeze then you spray the atomised contents of your nose and, if you have the virus, but not symptomatic, then you spray it all over anyone inside the 2 metre zone, possibly more if the wind is in the right direction. Now that spray is not programmed to guide it to a person is nose, mouth or eyes. No, it is sprayed all over you, all over your clothing. Your rub your hands or other objects which you are carrying and distribute it even further and, if you rub up against others, you transfer to them. Not rocket sience.
So, thinking logically, would it not be better, in these dangerous times, to wear something that stops a sneeze from being broadcast everywhere and on everyone within range? Wearing a mask does this. IT PREVENTS YOU, IF YOU HAVE THE VIRUS IN YOU FROM BROADCASTING IT. A very important measure in controlling the virus. AND THAT IS WHY, CHINA, AND OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES, ARE CONTROLLING THE VIRUS BETTER THAN THE WESTER WORLD. They immediately donned masks, as well as initiating an immediate lockdown. They also initiated temperature testing for anyone needing to enter a shop, get on a train, get on a bus or flight. The temperature testing for everyone took place even though other areas were not locked down immediately. When EBOLA was rampant every Chinese airport had temperature measuring desks between the arrival gate and immigration. If you registered then you were taken aside for further medical examination and quarantine.
RESULTS PROVE THAT THEY DID THE RIGHT THINGS.
With a population of 1.4 billion they have controlled the virus with a lower number and percentage of reported infections and death than any western nation. Witness also South Korea, another nation that immediately took to the mask and testing. It also looks like Vietnam are going to follow in the footsteps of China and South Korea.
Lots of naysayers are saying that the numbers are being massaged. Believe me, or believe me not, as someone who is married to a Chinese national and has lived and worked in China for a very long time, The Chinese government would not be loosening the controls on movement unless it was safe to do so. But, even so, the population still, and will for a long time yet, continue to wear masks.
TIME THE WESTERN WORLD WOKE UP AND IN PARTICULAR THE WHO (World Health Organisation, not the band) and did some logical thinking.
