Mysterious sink holes are appearing across the idyllic landscape of the Scottish Village of Tarn-Na-Hay, leading too two Surveyors from the Government arriving to assess what is going on. However, soon they are faced with a ever more escalating situation as they discover that Coffins are being dug up and hallowed out, and that there have been sightings of a monster in the woods.
With the locals growing restless, and the village in threat, the ground beneath their feet begins to move and from the ground emerge hideous monsters, seeking food...
Based on the North East of Scotland Folklore of the same name, "The Yird Swine" was created in the cast and crews spare time, with help from Sound Students from a local college and no funding.
Written, edited, filmed, directed and acted by people in their spare time, this film is a testament to their passion to push limitations, budgetary constraints and produce a entire film.
