📝New Signing Announcement

Bena McRae joins Aberdeen City Ladies FC

We’re thrilled to confirm the permanent signing of Bena ahead of the 2025/26 Season. 🔴⚪️

Bena shared this:
“I’ve played football since I was 10 years old, all through Turriff youth starting at U12s, then U14s and U16s. Recently, over the past two seasons, I’ve been playing for U18s, serving as captain in my first season at U18. The past 2 years I’ve also been selected to play for the Aberdeenshire football squad. I’m looking forward to my season ahead and happy to be continuing football this season.”

🗣️Manager Ally Beattie shared his thoughts:

“We’re delighted to welcome Bena to Aberdeen City!
Bena joins us after 2 seasons of football with Turriff U18s. She’s a composed and confident defender, comfortable on the ball and capable of playing anywhere across the backline.
Bena brings valuable depth to the squad, and we’re really looking forward to supporting her development here at the club.”

Thank you Jill for the pic 📸

Fiona and family have fundraising down to a tee!

Fiona Gray and her family have seen it, done it - and got lots of t-shirts! From creating their own in their early days of fundraising, through our 'light blue' phase (below) to today's eye-catching darker blue design, the family from Turriff hasn't missed an opportunity to pull on a Scottish Huntington's Association top, raise money and spread awareness in their community.

Now, after more than 12 years of dedicated the support, the family's total raised so far is fast approaching £50,000.

Even the Covid pandemic couldn't stop them - the family just carried on by gathering a team together to do a virtual Kiltwalk in and around their home town. Other events over the years have included a ladies’ day, a Santa Tractor run, 'tattie shed' dances, and coffee mornings.

This year alone Fiona’s husband Kevin has raised over £2200 by taking part in the Falkirk Wheel Abseil and donations continue to come in from the collection can at their local petrol station. Fiona’s nephew Blair Scott took part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk and the family has also signed up for the Dundee Kiltwalk on 17 August, on what would have been Fiona’s late mum Marion Scott’s 83rd birthday.

“When Mum was diagnosed it was a big learning curve for all of us. She had mobility issues and over time was no longer able to walk or speak. The support we had from Scottish Huntington’s Association made a real difference,” said Fiona.
