Threads....the new X? 💡

I've been following the chat about Threads in social media land for a while now, and it is interesting to see that its popularity is growing by the minute. With users up to around 400 million, it is anticipated it could easily catch up with X (its main competitor) by 2026.

So what is Threads? In a nutshell, Threads is a Meta platform designed for text based posts to create discussion. As most of you will have noticed by now, you can link to it via your Instagram profile.

Is it useful for businesses? Yes, if text based posts are beneficial for you. You could use it to share knowledge and encourage discussions with your audience.

Should you be on LinkedIn? 🤔

Following on the theme of where you should be, I often get asked about LinkedIn.

Some things to consider:

✧ Do you sell to other businesses?

✧ Are you looking to grow your professional network?

✧ Is thought leadership part of your strategy?

If so then LinkedIn will work well for you. However if your audience is mainly local consumers, or you rely heavily on visual content (like fashion, food, or lifestyle brands), LinkedIn may not be the most effective platform for you.

✨ The key: be where your audience is.

Let’s Go Positive Dog Training

I have been working with Janice pretty much since I started up my business back in March. Janice runs a highly successful dog training business which takes her all over the UK and beyond. As you can imagine, this leaves little time for keeping her social media pages up to date!

I look after Janice's Facebook and Instagram pages and have implemented a strategy to maintain regular posting, increase followers and visibility, and keep on top of social listening. I have also been along to some of Janice's training sessions to see her in action and take some pictures for content.

Social Media Today recently shared an update worth knowing about, regarding Facebook's algorithm.

If you’re reposting viral content or sharing from other pages without adding your own spin — it’s time to rethink your strategy.

Facebook's algorithm is now marking down unoriginal content across feeds and recommendations.

Quoted from Facebook:

“Unoriginal content reuses or repurposes another creator’s content repeatedly without crediting them, taking advantage of their creativity and hard work. We love it when creators reshare content, add commentary in a reaction video or join in on a trend, adding their unique take. What we want to combat is the repeated reposting of content from other creators without permission or meaningful enhancements.”

If you’ve noticed something strange happening in your Facebook groups lately, you’re not alone. A recent glitch has caused posts to disappear, engagement to drop, and in some cases, entire groups to temporarily vanish from search results. 😟
